I still love the draft but the wait this year had killed by interest (almost). I will watch it mostly because I'm always up anyways. I actually think they may trade up today not down. They are up to 8 draft picks and had 17 rookies last year plus a ton the year before. They will move up to get a player they want if he's there. I want one of the ND DL with Nix being first choice and Tuitt second. Dee Ford would be an outside the box Patriots pick as an undersized pass rusher but he could be a great get for a much needed role.

Have the Patriots traded out of the 1st in back to back years? I agree that in all likelihood they will trade down which makes a lot of sense. Just wanted to know.

With 10 minutes between picks, with every team taking just about the entire 10 minutes, and the clocks resetting if there are trades, we're talking finding out about them trading out of the first at 1 AM.

They may start to trade before the draft:
@tomecurran: A source tells me Ryan Mallett to the Texans may soon be done.
He added that it's not done but it's in the works.

Then added another source said its nothing.

There has been so much speculation for so long that the draft consensus of who is going where probably has everything all wrong by now.

"Nothing doing at the moment" and "its nothing" mean 2 VERY different things.

They sold the whole farm... first rounder this year and first and fourth rounders next year. Crazy.

They paid a premium, but they got a stud. Watkins is far and away the most talented offensive player in the draft. But yikes, that's still most likely a top 10 pick next year to move up 5 spots. Cleveland is stock piling 1st rounders. But after making the great trade, I think they botched the pick at 8 on Gilbert.

Perhaps Jerry Jones isn't completely bonkers after all. But I'm not sure.

I wanted him to take Johnny Football. That would have been bonkers.
Do the J.E.T.S only draft defensive players and QBs? Feels like it.

Do the J.E.T.S only draft defensive players and QBs? Feels like it. Mike Sando, ESPN.com @sandoespn · 4m 6 straight defensive 1st-rouners for Jets. Since '09, tho, they've used 77.3 percent of picks in rds 2-7 for offense. Cincy next (56.3 pct). I thought the JEST were more in need of a CB than a S though. And the Fins just picked an OL I've never heard of.

NFL network just said that they hear Cleveland is looking to get back into the first round, they pick third in the second - trade with The Pats coming?

Lots of talent waiting to fall in the Patriots lap as the pick approaches.
Marqise Lee would be a flashy pick, but I'm guessing DT if they don't trade down.
Pats on the clock...
Lee or Tuitt please.

I would add the UCLA lineman to that list if they stay put.
