I'm going out on a limb and saying the Red Sox start winning from here on out. Lineup goes back to normal, I'm happy with a 1-2-3 of Leater, Lackey, and Peavy. I think Clay can turn it around and hold the 4th spot down. The only thing I would change is maybe a DL stint for Felix and give a couple of young guys a shot.

Given the Sox pitching staff option situation, baring a real DL by a reliever, there are really only three realistic paths the Sox can take, hope that he improves, flip-flop roles with Capuano or trade him. . . . . A catch is a catch again. Eye on Baseball ?@eyeonbaseball 1m Report: MLB fixes transfer rule, effective immediately cbsprt.co/1nNd7PG via

Doubront is out of options. If you ever have a question re: options about any individual player, that information is listed on their SoxProspects profile.

On the 40-man roster page, the last column on the far right ("OPT") tells you how many options they have left. In Doubront's column, they list "0", which means he's out of options. The only players on the current 25-man roster with options left: Tazawa, Middlebrooks, Bradley, Bogaerts, Herrera. (Buchholz has an option left but would have to consent to being optioned, which is unlikely barring a Bard-like meltdown.) This is not a roster with a ton of flexibility on it, particularly if the bullpen gets overworked and they need to call somebody up from Pawtucket.

Crush your enemies. See them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of their women.

Jays just signed Ryan Rowland-Smith to a minor league deal, probably so that he tells them everything he knows about pine tar usage in the Red Sox organization.

Crush your enemies. See them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of their women. And hopefully that which does not kill the Red Sox will make them stronger in August and September ( . . . . and October, of course).

JBJ with a great night. Double off the LF wall, triple to the RCF alley and a great running catch.

Serious guys, we're finally winning a game, and crickets? That's because this board is filled with a bunch of negative nancies. It frustrates the hell outta me too.

Serious guys, we're finally winning a game, and crickets? That's because this board is filled with a bunch of negative nancies. It frustrates the hell outta me too. You hit the nail on the head, plus WMB and JBJr are having good games. Most of these posters do not like to eat crow when the players (they do not like or want traded) on the team (they supposedly cheer for) do well. That's why I avoid a lot of the topics here, like lets move Xander to OF or to 3B or make him 1B or DH or lets sign Drew or trade for Stanton. Give me a break. I am a Die hard Red Sox fan since 1977 (favorite player as a kid was Freddie Lynn) from Washington Heights, NYC I went to High School with Manny (yes that Manny) and I took it on the chin for so many years from Yankees and Mets fans. But this is our Century (once again, please don't trade this century's version of Ruth, Xander or Devers), no one is better than the Red Sox right now, from top to bottom, we are the envy of all baseball, we just won a championship with no one but Nava and Koji having career years and the future looks so bright, you know the rest.

Nice night for all three of our youngsters so far. It's good to see WMB come back and get off to a good start. I thought Holt put together good AB's and more than held his own, but I think Middlebrooks can make a real difference with his RH pop in the bottom half of this lineup. And I sure hope Bradley keeps this up, because I don't think I want to see another outfield alignment without Bradley and Victorino this year.
