There was nothing more predictable than that Herrera double play. I can't wait to get him and Holt as far away from this team as possible.

Two innings with the first two batters on and two double plays. I'd say something about line-up sequencing but the experts say it really doesn't matter.

How about they field their best lineup for two days in a row? I know it's imperative that Farrell switches things up everyday, but it'd be nice to see the same lineup that scored 8 runs last night in again. The compulsion to constantly tinker is so annoying. This isn't Spring Training anymore. Play your best players. Jonathan Herrera is a defensive replacement at best. He should never, ever start over Bogaerts. Edit: Holy ****. The left side of the infield is inventing new ways to suck every game. I take back what I said about Herrera. He should be cut on the spot.

Sabermetricians say that if you have someone who can run fast and steal bases you should hit him in front of someone who hits a lot of singles. In other words Victorino in front of Ortiz is about the worst possible thing you can do.

Jonathan Herrera is a defensive replacement at best. Nope. Bottomline: Sizemore and Herrera should only be playing because of emergencies. It should never be a willful decision.

His player page says he has one option remaining. As a player with 5+ years of service time, the Red Sox would have to get his consent to option him down. I don't think Buchholz would willingly accept an option unless he reaches Daniel Bard-levels of ineptitude. Damn. We should get this replay call at least, so there's that to build on.

He's looked bad on offense and worse on defense.

Wouldn't it be ironic if Grady hit a grand slam now?

Not sure why the Jays didn't just leave Morrow in against Pierzynski, throwing everything outside the zone would have been a pretty good strategy against him.
This Jenkins guy, he can throw strikes apparently.

Morrow second pitcher in MLB history to give up 4 ER while walking 8 or more but not allowing a hit.
Billy Pierce had a 2.2 0 4 4 9 2 line on August 3, 1948.
Edit: and that was a relief appearance where he entered losing 5-1. That was the first start in MLB history with those criteria.
