Vazquez shows bunt on the first pitch with noone on... is he such a speedster or just messing with their heads?

Ranaudo looking very sharp so far despite cold weather. I'm a Ranaudo fan but he's not locating like he has in the past yet. He had two separate batters down 1-2 that went to full counts causing a 16 pitch inning. The ball is moving nicely but he needs to get his fastball down. Vazquez 2/2, second hit was a nice piece of hitting taking an outside pitch to RF with the bases juiced. He's now batting .300. Brentz with an 0-2 GS.

Ranaudo looking very sharp so far despite cold weather. Probably not going to help that he's sitting for so long as 10 go to the plate.

Brentz with 22 (they don't count) RBIs.

Brentz with 22 (they don't count) RBIs. And if he came up to bat with no runners on base ever through no fault of his own, he'd have 4 RBIs.

And the beat goes on. Is he in just one of those rhythms and will become a pumpkin again, or has he made some adjustments? Also noticed that Ranuado was consistently high in spring training, that is, high with his pitches. He may also have been consistently high.

This is not the place to argue about RBIs. No one is going to have their mind changed, and it's fairly well played out at this point. Just recognize that you don't view baseball through the same lens and move on.

Cold is not enough ... time for some rain?

Cold is not enough ... time for some rain? It has been a generally cool and wet spring thus far in the DC area. I can't imagine what it might be up in the Northeast. I think we really have to take the northern team stats with a grain of salt until the weather stabilizes, as well as sample sizes increasing. But I'm willing to listen to arguments that Mookie has shown he can handle cold weather, not a bad attribute for playing in Boston.....

Ranaudo with a complete game shutout? (of the 5IP variety)

Tarp time. So Ranaudo very likely done for the day, 5 IP, 7 K, 2 BB, 2 H. Excellent stats and that's not even taking into account the horrible weather.

They are rolling out the tarp after the fifth. Ranaudo has improved his efficiency, 39 pitches through 2 innings but only 82 through 5. There really hasn't been anything solid hit against him. The three fly outs were the 'lazy' variety.
He struck out the side on 9 pitches in the fifth.

The three fly outs were the 'lazy' variety. And the 2 hits both to short right field, so might have been 0 hits with infield shifts.

In that case I'd like to get to know you. Comments on here from time to time are seemingly taken far too seriously and/or as a means to be disparaging. Lighten up.
