Peavy is garbage, why should his spot in the rotation be safe? ??

Peavy throws the craptastic combo of pitches that move enough that he can't command them but not enough to get a swing-and-miss.

That's a throw that Xander needs to learn not to make.

i'll always like Coco. Wasn't it in 2007 that he had that ridiculous playoff at bat? I wish I had some cells left that contained memory. No, it was Game 5 of the 2008 ALCS Coco had that ridiculous AB. The Sox were about to get eliminated trailing 7-0 with 2 outs in the 7th before rallying for 4 runs - Papi had a 3-run blast to change the score from 7-1 to 7-4. In the 8th Drew hit a 2-run HR with Bay aboard to get the Sox to within 1. With 2 outs and a runner at 2b, Coco had a great long AB resulting in a game tying hit. Then the Sox won it on Drew's hit in the last of the 9th. They won Game 6 4-2, but fell in Game 7 3-1. In 2007 Coco made a great catch to clinch the ALCS and he had a key pinchhit single to ignite an 8th inning rally in Game 3 of the World Series after Colorado had come from 6-0 down to close to within 6-5 (before the Sox pulled away again for a 10-5 victory) In 2007 Coco lost his full-time job to Jacoby Ellsbury after the 5th game of the ALCS. In 2008 with Ellsbury slumping, Coco took Ellsbury's job in the ALCS. Then Coco was gone for a middle reliever (Ramirez?) the following month.

Now that Buchholz is coming back there must be some room on the phantom DL for Peavy, right?

That's a throw that Xander needs to learn not to make. Yes....but he's the 10 year veteran and the bone headed play is on him. You hardly ever see that play..unless it's on a bunt.

Hassan was optioned on the 8th (?) ... so he was not eligible on the 17th when Cecchini was recalled ... unless I have the 10-days counted incorrectly.

Now that Buchholz is coming back there must be some room on the phantom DL for Peavy, right? They really need Peavy to throw 1-2 games ins a row. Somebody will take him and maybe even pay the rest of his salary that way, clearing a spot for Workman.
