Buchholz will forever be a mercurial headcase who can't be counted on. I don't care about the flashes of brilliance. You can never count on him for anything.

We're talking about one of the all-time bad pitching performances here folks. This is pathetic. Will Theo take him off of our hands too?

I like the idea if a high draft pick but can we please play to win against the Yankees? Obviously buch doesn't have it tonight he needs the hook.
He just can't command his pitches. Either not close or down the middle. Everything up too. He use to paint the corner with that 2 seemer.

As pathetic as it gets. Buchholz has no business on a major league rotation. He's a disgrace. That's a tad harsh. A pitcher with no confidence, no matter how much talent, is worthless. Would you ever go into a season counting on Buchholz to be anything more than back-of-the-end starter who "might" be great for a two-month stretch? You can never pencil him into be anything more than a question mark.

I also thought he struck out McCann that inning. But the strike zone has been pretty consistently tight tonight.

I don't even think Buchholz's wife can defend that fact!

I just was pumped to watch the game tonight. And Matsuzaka was pitching tonight.

She's sitting about 6 rows up right behind the plate tonight, too. Even more embarrassing to melt down like thins in front of family.

Also, Breslow's option shouldn't be picked up. His peripherals pointed to this a while. He's not that good.

Just horrific. If we had two league aver third starters going after Ranaudo we could've ended these dirtbags' season, too, this weekend.

Pretty sure that Breslow option is not going to get picked up!

Xander and JBJ the offensive equivalent of Webster and Buchholz too. Just lost up there at the shiny white dish. Bradley's set-up and execution are just a mess, Xander lunging at the ball and having too much weight forward too soon, and RISP, if he sees it, completely inside his head making him press even more. People say let him figure it out up here but I think they need to get their habits back to right on the bunny slope in Pawtucket for 3 weeks before he can hit the double diamonds again.

Thank god we didn't extend Lester. He might suck in 2019 as much as Buchholz does right now.

We have to watch our RS starters to give up 5, 6 & 5 walks in three consecutive games. Should we expect them doing same thing in every game with 4 prospect starters and awful Clay? I thought it doesn't make sense to use Cespedes to patrolling LF. He looked confused over there and Yankees get benefit by that way. It's 8-7 now instead of 7-4 with 3rd out if he focused on catching the ball.

So far Cepedes looks out of control at the plate. Good set-up but then just swinging for the fences like he wants to pull it through the monster. Dude should make his plate coverage work for him.

K's for both Bogaerts and Bradley. That was to be expected.

Crazy how the two closers in this game could end up with $15M qualifying offers this offseason
I don't see any team in their right mind (maybe someone is truling "going" for it" surrendering a pick for either, so even if they turn it down, have to imagine both end up with BOS/NY

Also, Xander looks so much smoother at SS. Now a lot of that is probably due to a lot more experience at the position, but he certainly looks capable
Xander is also only 21. If he is hitting like what most "expected" by the time he's 23/24, he's a full fledged superstar. Most likely he's hitting his potential as Ortiz leaves

Both JBJ & Bogaerts are disappointed in their almost full season as hitter. Xander isn't that good as the #1 RS prospect as overall hitter and SS/3B defender. He's not the same as last yr playoff series. I liked JBJ better as MLB defender only.
