To me the only debate of best guitarist of all time is between Hendrix and SRV. But I'm definitely a blues guy, so I'm biased. Man, if you are a blues guy, you are killing the greats. SRV ahead of the Yardbird guys? Clapton, Page, and Beck? Ahead of BB King? Or so many other trailblazers back to Robert Johnson? Seems like a good deal of room to debate. Hendrix #1? Fact. Agree with jimed here. I've got SRV as my #2 as well and it's not particularly close.

Ranking SRV ahead of Clapton, Page, and Beck is, er, idiosyncratic. But to each his own! My favorites are not guitar gods... mostly sloppy punks.

Ranking guitarists is like ranking baseball players without statistics. Who's the second best player in baseball behind Trout. My all time favorite guitarist is Jeff Beck but that's a different question.

And Led Zeppelin is the best band of all time.

Zeppelin is one of my favorites, and it would be tough to find a four-man lineup as good instrument for instrument. Personally, though, I still say the Beatles. McCartney is the Mozart of pop music.

So I spent an entire day with a song in my head and couldn't for the best of me figure out what it was. Finally I got it:
Next time you get annoyed because you can't pinpoint what it is your brain is singing to you, just assume it's OMD. Great song though, that synth sound at the 1:30 mark is VERY real.

Great song though, that synth sound at the 1:30 mark is VERY real. Wow, I'm super surprised OMD are in my top 5 all-time favorite bands. When I saw you mention Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark I thought for sure the song you were going to post was "If You Leave" which is a song everyone knows as " That song from Pretty In Pink" , but almost no one can tell you who sang it. Kind of a funny anecdote... I saw OMD at a small venue in Boston a few years ago. Andy McCluskey (bassist, lead singer) says in the middle of their set "Now we're gonna play the song that really fucked up our career in America..." Then they played "If you Leave"

Then they played "If you Leave" A bit late here but LOL that must be an accurate way to describe what it feels like having a single hit that defines your career for unaware listeners. OMD is a great band and their catalogue deserves better, especially since they have other IMO better ballads like Maid of Orleans and Joan of Arc. Unrelated, but at long last TODAY IS NEW TOOL ALBUM DAY! Rejoice bros, we all made it!

His name still gets misspelled a fair amount too, causing it to pop up on a certain SP editor's Google Alert. Poor guy.

BlackPink and BTS are popular here. Not sure if they are known in the USA.
LOL, both of my daughters chose BlackPink tops last time they went clothes shopping.

Does anyone over the age of 15 like BTS? I don't get it. And I'm not quite old enough to stop liking any new music, though it's getting close.
I'd bet a lot of money that they don't sing anything live and never have, not even in a studio.

And I'm not quite old enough to stop liking any new music, though it's getting close. It happens fast. Just wait until the first time you notice someone hit number 1 and you have no idea who they even are. It's awful.

I know who the musical guest is on SNL about half the time anymore. But I'm still able to find new music to listen to, searching far and wide. But I think that's because rock is pretty much dead and that's mostly what I like. Like who the hell is DaBaby (on the last SNL)? Is that mumble rap? And does anyone even like mumble rap or is it a joke? It's like a parody of itself almost. I'm also not like some old white guy who hates all rap either. I recognize the genius of Kanye.

Anybody care to admit a song or a group that you like that you are slightly embarrassed to admit you like?
I'll go first, I'm actually not terribly embarrassed to admit I like a decent amount of Nickelback. I shrug off the haters who say it is bubble gum formula rock. I guess I dig the formula.
I am very embarrassed that I like a couple of Katy Perry Songs (catchy melodies and a "fun" vibe have me). I also like the Pina Colada Song by Rupert Holmes. I used to like a great deal of Duran Duran but discovered recently none of it holds up for me and I have none of it on any playlists. If I still liked them, they'd go on the list as I was never "comfortable" being a fan.
Can anybody top Katy Perry for god-awful music that they can't help liking?

I think Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion are fantastic singers. For reference, from the male side Roy Orbison and Neil Diamond. Millennials watch at your own risk:

Oddball song I always liked and usually play multiple times consecutively:
Question.. Does anybody know what the expression "Jersey Girl" means ? I'm assuming a transgender but I'm not sure.

It's a girl from New Jersey. 3:23ish "I knew him long before he ever became a Jersey girl."
