Summary, per Alex Speier tweets (read bottom to top):
Alex Speier @alexspeier 4m4 minutes ago Henry said repeatedly Sox players simply need to make adjustments that permit them to play to talent levels.
Alex Speier @alexspeier 4m4 minutes ago Henry: 'I wouldn't be supportive if I was a fan watching these games. We've played like bleep.' (Actually said bleep. Didn't profane.)
Alex Speier @alexspeier 5m5 minutes ago Henry: 'I don't think we need a shakeup... This is a great offensive team. They haven't shown it.'
Alex Speier @alexspeier 6m6 minutes ago Henry says he's confident Red Sox can turn around results. Regret not signing Lester? 'No.'
Alex Speier @alexspeier 7m7 minutes ago Henry says there's disappointment but 'no anger.' Satisfied with effort level.
Alex Speier @alexspeier 8m8 minutes ago Henry says neither Farrell's nor Cherington's jobs are in jeopardy.
Alex Speier @alexspeier 8m8 minutes ago Henry: 'There won't be drastic change...I don't see that happening this year.'

Sounds good to me and I even read it top to bottom mistakenly.

John Henry: "You can't blame the manager for this" #RedSox
The question remains, what can you judge the manager by then? I am sympathetic to the argument that players will play as they play regardless, but then in-game management is the only relevant thing a manager does, and JF is awful at that...

Surprised they are going with Leon tonight since you gotta think he'll catch tomorrow. In addition to what jmei said re: Buchholz, I'd point out that, y'know, both of them are playing tomorrow since it's a doubleheader.

As referenced above, See Valentine, Manager of the 2012 Red Sox Bobby. Just because the fans cannot easily evaluate something does not mean it cannot be evaluated.

Of note, the PawSox game notes have Zeke Spruill starting on Friday, which would've been Masterson's turn in the Pawtucket rotation.
Nothing in there about whether he's going to the bullpen or not making his turn this start.

Can't feel good to be the manager when your owner has to say that still.
Hopefully this lights a fire underneath us.

Well I mean, y'know I did mention both Leon would catch tomorrow as well as Swihart probably being E-Rod's personal catcher. Not sure if you think you are breaking the news to me that tomorrow there is a double header, or really what you are doing with this post.

Makes sense given that Portland's Friday starter is TBD.

I was surprised the back up catcher was starting tonight knowing he would also go tomorrow, because the Buchholz thing slipped my mind. There really isn't anything else too it.

Seemed like Mookie had been popping up a lot, so I went to check where he stood on IFFB/BIP (IFFB%*FB% on Fangraphs), and turns out there are 5 Red Sox players in the top 30 - Hanley at 16, Xander at 18, Mookie at 20, Pedroia at 28, and Sandoval at 29. Goes a long way toward explaining their BABIP woes.

If Prince Fielder can score from 1st on a double, why can't Sandoval do it?

Don't look at the home plate ump like that Xander, ask for an appeal instead! Not enough hitters do it.

It's time for this Mike Pelfrey bubble to burst. I think we win today.

After watching Ramirez's AB, it is easy to see why Pelfrey has done so well. First 2 pitches called strikes when they were not strikes.
If he pitches over the plate he's gonna get hit. Unfortunately he often doesn't have to throw it over the plate.

Sandoval was basically going on the pitch and then had a very leisurely cruise into 3rd. I do feel like it would have been a close play at the plate had he been sent. Admittedly, with only 1 out there is a case for being conservative and I will freely admit that I and others here have often bashed Butterfield for being too aggressive. Let's do some math. Expected runs with... 1 out, runners at 2nd and 3rd: 1.352 1 out, runner at 2nd, run scored: 1.644 2 outs, runner at 2nd: 0.305 (Source: www.fangraphs.com/library/misc/re24/ ) Ignoring the fact that the hitter might advance to 3rd on a throw to the plate, you want at least a success rate of 1.352 = 1.644p + 0.305(1-p) => p = .782 to send the runner. My estimate is that Sandoval would have had more around a 50% chance of scoring so yeah, good call Butterfield. Still wish we had scored somehow though.

And Buchholz's ERA is officially under 4.
