Wonder how far away the Sox are from giving Travis Shaw a shot. He started off poorly but this last 20 game stretch hes been hitting. At what position? Napoli has an 896 OPS last 20 games. And if they're going to bring him up for 3B and bench Sandoval, may as well just ask Pablo if he'll take a 60 million dollar buyout at this point. ' First base. Shaw has a 937 OPS in that span, putting up consistent numbers. While Nap had a really good 6 game span but hasnt done much since(9-52 in his last 16). Im just wondering when they realize this is a lost cause and bring up someone like Shaw to see what they have since Nap wont be back next year.

Ortiz career is going to end the same way it too off, DFA'd. Well, that might be ttue if this team were relevant. I knew Ortiz's time was coming, just sucks that its early in the season and while nobody else in the line up is hitting. I remember him saying that he didnt want that Jeter tour(not that he would get one) and that he would know when his time was up and just retire. If he continues this way then i hope he honors that and hangs em up.

Out-executed by the Orioles yet again. Where have we seen this before? Sandoval hands them a run. 2-base error, move the runner to 3rd on a ground, bring him in on a sac fly. Mookie leads an inning off. Swihart, can't get him over. We don't score. There's your ballgame folks.

Xander, Mookie, and Swihart - we're doing something in the top of the 9th. Book it.

He's pretty close to Sandy Leon for our worst hitter. I guess he's been a little better lately but he's not ready to be a starting catcher.

Travis Shaw is something like Plan M to cover 1B for 2016.

Tazawa will be a nice trade piece at the deadline! He could fetch this team something really good.

Lets hope Xander can give us one of those classics. Make a great play in the top of the inning, bit hit in the bottom of the inning.
Edit: we are the away team...and he just grounded out. Palm to face.

Wouldn't be a loss without it coming at the hands of Pablo Sandoval directly.

Once the NBA and NHL Finals are over, it's really going to suck watching this pile of dogcrap every night. You can always watch other teams play too. ESPN has games on Monday, Wednesday and Sunday and then MLB Network has Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday usually. Then there are Saturday games usually.

Good on Swihart to hustle there. Some heart that we wouldn't have seen from half of this team

Ironic that you are complaining about people getting snappy at you, when you are one of the few on here who has been very disrespectful to other posters consistently.

Napoli won't be here and neither will Travis Shaw unless they plan to embrace the 75-win or bust motto of the Mets. And if we're placing bets on who is going to be the 1B for next year, Napoli is a lot higher on the list than Travis Shaw.

Well if we're not gonna make the playoffs which is clear, we could always see if we could improve his stock. If not then he helps our draft pick next year.
