I wonder how hard it will be to negotiate with Benintendi while he is active in the tournament. His signing has the most implications for the rest of the signings. Whether he signs at slot vs. something like 3,000,000 is the difference of 500,000 in potential spending for other slots. I'd imagine we need to finalize his signing sooner rather than later, but I can see how a player might want to wait to negotiate until after the tourney.

I think they must have an understanding with his "adviser" already.

Baseball America ,discusses every teams draft and around the 19:00 mark they hit on the Sox. They basically loved it. From what. I understand when they picked Benintendi basically he could end up the best player or hitter in the draft by far or there taking a chance basically from limited production. They way they explained it I at peace with the pick that's all I can ask. They love the kid and pick and are trusting there scouts. If there was more baseball production he might not of been there at 7. Law brings this up to. He said if Benintendi had another year of good production or a summer on the cape he could be a 1-1 candidate.

Kyri Washington changed his twitter handle to say "Baseball player in the Red Sox organization" so I'm assuming he is going to sign.

I'm going to throw an early Duke Snider comp on Andrew Benintendi.

Benintendi makes a nice diving catch to end the 3rd.

I'm going to throw an early Duke Snider comp on Andrew Benintendi. That would be incredible. His speed will come in handy in the doubles department. I think he's going to be a 175+ ISO guy even if he maxes out around 15 HRs.

I'm going to throw an early Duke Snider comp on Andrew Benintendi. OK in some ways, but Snider was well above average height for his day, while Benintendi is below average today.

His hand/wrist strength is apparently off the charts.

He has such a small/non-existent load that it's easy to see him hit for power and average.

His hand/wrist strength is apparently off the charts. Well, I guess it will be OK to get the 8th pick in the 2016 draft when he doesn't sign.

#BennyBaseball
I'm jamming that name down peoples' throats if he ends up being a stud prospect.

Well, I guess it will be OK to get the 8th pick in the 2016 draft when he doesn't sign.Pinson had wrists and could handle the inside pitch much like betts does, only he learned to drive the outside ones as well. Getting someone, like Benintendi who has wrists like Pinson and plays good defense, which was never a strong attribute of Pinson would be outstanding.

Wonderful to see Benintendi do well. I have high hopes for him, probably more than I rationally should.
He could very well be the salvation for the miserable 2014 season. I'm imagining him being one of those guys that are on a young, emerging, competitive Red Sox team in 2019. That matters to me because I plan on bringing my son to his first Fenway game when he's old enough to go, and I always think about what he'll be seeing since it'll be his first Fenway memory.
I'm thinking he sees guys like Betts, Bogaerts, Swihart, Devers, Moncada, Margot, and Benintendi. Of course Pedroia should still be around and I'd think Castillo as well. Hopefully Sandoval won't be there. That furnishes hope for the future.
Benintendi could be a key part of the lineup by then. I certainly hope so. I'll be excited to follow his path to the majors.

Benintendi leads off the bottom of the 8th down by 1 again, takes a close pitch on 3-2 for the walk, promptly steals 2nd base. Now if someone will just test his arm in CF we can get the full first hand scouting report in one game. He is fun to watch. Easy to dream big on a kid like this.

He's got that best-player-on-the-field glow.
