Tazawa and Layne aren't helping their trade value.

Personally, I could take the losing if our young players weren't so "meh".
Carlos Correa just hit his third home run; Xander Bogaerts has three.
Joc Pederson, Kris Bryant, Joey Gallo, Addison Russell.
It's almost as if there were some supernatural force sucking anything resembling baseball ability out of everyone on this team. Except the Brockstar.
Am I the only one who feels this way?

Xander Bogaerts could have a worse career than Carlos Correa and still make it to the Hall of Fame.
If you think Bogaerts is a "meh" player then I really don't know what to tell you, other than you have unreasonable expectations for baseball players.

Well, we'll get another top 7 pick to add to the farm system next year, plus Benintendi if that helps you feel better.

Swihart really needs additinal time in AAA, he needs to work on an approach: He looks like he has no plans out there in the batter box.

At this point, barring some ungodly winning streak, we might as well sell and hope for a top 5 pick.

Assuming a top 7 pick this year, that would give us the the equivalent of four top 7 picks in four years because Moncada was widely rated as being as good as a top 1 or 2 guy in a typical draft.
There's got to be some payout from that down the line. Doesn't there? I mean that's a lot of talent for a big-market team to bring into its organization.

If you think Bogaerts is a "meh" player then I really don't know what to tell you, other than you have unreasonable expectations for baseball players. Xander Bogaerts is already a fine player. But if I had to wager, I'd say he's more likely headed for a solid career as an above average regular than as a star. While I agree that should exceed what was expected, it does fall below what was hoped for given his minor league record. In a year in which Joc Pedersen, Kris Bryant, Carlos Correa and Manny Machado (who's still only 22) have given their fans reason to believe their young stars are the players they dreamed on, Bogaerts and Betts have given Red Sox fans reason to believe they are just good players and we may have to adjust our expectations. And unfortunately, right now, the Red Sox need to find a couple of young stars. And if someone who has more knowledge of how to assess baseball players than I do wants to tell me that I am being overly pessimistic, I would really welcome that.

LOL. A completely healthy pitching staff. Masterson ain't hurt. He got DL'D because he sucks. Only position affected by injuries has been catcher. Victorino doesn't count. We got outfield depth because we knew that. We suck In my best Kevin Bacon Animal House voice, "Remain calm....All is well..."

If that means more Allen Craig, Joe Kelly and Cespedes/Porcello, Hembree then I'm not sure I want to sell.

His 127 wRC+ would rank third, behind Pedroia and Holt.

The prospects we promoted play the hardest positions on the field. Don't forget Xander helped us win a title. None of those other kids did that. He got screwed last year because Farrell begged BC to get Drew and moved him to third base and screwed with his head. Betts is an infielder who had no position at the major league level so they converted him on the fly and he is playing CF the toughest position in the outfield by the way. We bring up Swihart a year early to Catch. He is doing better than Salty ,he was wetting his pants when he first got here. That's just an example. E-Rod speaks for himself he was only in AAA for two months.
Some of those other kids came up they were top two or three picks. Those teams sucked *** to get those kids. Gallo anyone could of had him. I almost forgot when Weiters came up he struggled. Trout too. I see these guys hitting hardcore but I am more happier with what I see this year than the last year from the young kids.

Talk about glass half empty, even for this board. Those other guys don't play shortstop. Not sure how that fact is lost on you.

Correa has had 40 good PAs in the major leagues, which is something Xander Bogaerts has never done...
