There's a big difference between questioning his durability and questioning his work ethic and desire. You know something about the former but just about nothing about the latter. True. I pass most of the he doesn't care, desire stuff , off to frustrated fans. I just don't get how stat guys like yourself can still say he may be worth keeping. The average 31 year old would likely be worse going forward. His stats say he will miss big chucks of time the next 2 years,.

'No ligament damage' doesn't mean it can't still turn into a three-month mystery injury. Let's hope not.

Brian MacPherson @brianmacp Brian Johnson has been called up to the Red Sox. Hatfield called it. The grumpy guy from Germany will be grumpier. Uhm, calling him up right now doesn't exactly indicate he will be starting, they could have waited if that was the plan and called up another reliever in the meantime. So I'm gonna hold back on my grumpiness for now. Also with Buchholz on the DL there's two rotation spots to fill... I'll be really grumpy if they think Masterson's the one to do the filling again. If it's gonna be Porcello - Miley - Rodriguez - Wright - Johnson why would I mind?

Clay will be out longer than 15 days, He is being shut down for 7 days then reevaluated.

I mean, what better way to give Johnson a chance at a successful debut than to have him pitch the day after Steven Wright and profit from knuckleball hangover syndrome? Here's what I would like to see after the break:
@angels Porcello @angels E-Rod @angels Wright @angels Johnson @astros Miley @astros Porcello @astros E-Rod Tigers Wright Tigers Johnson Tigers Miley
This would maximize the knuckleball hangover effect and not have Wright or Johnson pitching against the home run hitters club (though arguably we should be more worried about Porcello in that regard).

Doug Fister had a similar injury this year and was on the DL for 35 days. His injury apparently was inflammation rather than a tear. The term "strain" seems to be used rather generally in referring to discomfort in the tendon, which can be soreness/inflammation from overuse, or it can be a tear, which is less common. Standard treatment is several weeks of rest and physical therapy. Sometimes surgery is required. It is not as complicated as TJ surgery and the recovery time is about half as long, five to six months.
In any case, it seems fairly likely that Buchholz could be out for a month or more.

hmm what'll it takes to remove Breslow? They gave the guy 4 millions to sign him and they think he's worse than Breslow? That signing was another fail of this FO.

I don't remember hating on a player more than Pablo Sandoval since Julio Lugo! I hate that sac of fat!

I guess big papi cried his way out of first base. So I give you Nap at first and Hanley in left. If I cared about getting a higher draft pick over winning it would be a good thing.

I hate Harold Reynolds. But the idea he just gave, of a gold glove award for superutility players, is interesting.

If Ellsbery got through the zone like that consistently, he'd be an extremely successful hitter.

I guess they are managing E-Rod's pitch count? Well I hope Tazawa is here for 5 outs.
