Then again, with the familiarity effect Eric discovered, Breslow might well retire 9 straight batters here in the national league...
...well maybe if JBJ had been in center field.

JBJ would have had that triple by Gordon.

Alright, I take back what I said in the draft pick thread. Tanking sucks, even when the young guys have a good game. Still can't believe Craig Breslow has a major league job.

This is the worst bullpen in the MLB. Major changes have to be made in the off season.

I know it's be selection bias, but I wonder what our record is in games Breslow pitched.

If Craig Breslow still has a job when I wake up, I am going to write a letter to Ben Cherington asking him if his brain is still functioning.

To put this loss into perspective..... the bullpen gave it away to the team with the worst (or second worst) record in the game who were without the services of their two best hitters. Weak bullpens, like ours deflate the morale for the entire team. This problem was apparent in ST, and never remotely resolved. Lots of attention and number crunching applied to this roster, the bullpen seemed like an afterthought. It shows.

Even if they were not this bad, it is expected that the trusted guys who got lean on a lot would run into some problems. That's what happen to Tazawa at this point. He needs a DL stint.

I would love to have an outfield of Mookie/JBJ/Castillo next year but I don't think it's going to happen

- Kids producing good ABs - Castillo keeping the ball off the ground - A good loss for the (loaded) draft next year - MFY losing in a soul crushing fashion and just half a game ahead of the Jays after burning their BP I say this is a good baseball night my friends!

He's .327 / .365 / .429 since his recall. He doesn't even have to keep that up to win a job.

No brainer: Mookie, JBJ, Rusney, the 2016 OF. To those who say "but look at JBJ's MLB AB's, I say they are situation dependent. Thrown into the deep end as a AA Rookie in '13. Still learning to hit in 2014, flailing, lost, hung out to dry, yet a finalist for the GG (which he should have won). Jerked around in 2015 while being the best hitter in the league in AAA. Finally, finally the bat catching up to the glove, to the baseball savvy, and still the doubts and certitude of trading him. Unreal. If he is what he porfends, and is a Sox for 4 more years before Borass drops the hammer, he is one of our most valuable players (player, not asset, and not fantasy chip) and should be starting in 2016
The potentially AllStar OF will cost $14M ($18-19 with deAza as #4.) Why would the FO even consider blowing it up for Hanley or anyone else. Fix the fecking bullpen, hire a #1 cor the rotation, figure out Hanley/Panda, and let 2016 begin.
