Bogaerts is still just a kid. The league has been working on figuring him out, and he's figuring out the league. As you mention, they've started pitching him inside. That's because of the ridiculous contact rate he developed on pitches outside. He's been killing it, so that isn't working for the opposition now. I'm surprised it's taken this long for pitchers to start going inside, but that may just be a function of his ability to crush a few of those. That is, after all, why they started painting the corners last year. That strategy is now obsolete. Let's see what the chess game looks like going forward. The Bogaerts knocks on this site are becoming ridiculous. He couldn't hit a lick last year and he fixed that... what do you think the chances are that he makes adjustments after this season? Probably pretty high. He's 22 and possibly our best hitter let's all take a few deep breaths and just kinda wait and see. And same goes for Mookie- normally players don't come up and light the world on fire at 22. They weren't finished products when they arrived in Boston and they are getting better as the season is going along... RELAX. Plus, all their development this year and figuring out how to hit major league pitching was done with nothing on the line- no growing pains during a playoff run. Took the words out of my mouth. I actually am even more exicted. I see a kid who is 22 who commands the plate like that is refreshing. You look at Hanley just trying to bash everything and this kid can get you a hit off of anyone late innings with r.i.s.p. He is so ahead of the game ,miles away from last year. I cant wait whent his kid gets older and everything comes together.

So, uh, first base defense is important. Don't worry, I'm sure Hanley will be really motivated to work hard on the necessary skills so he can play 1B for an ENTIRE SEASON before Ortiz retires and Hanley moves to DH.

Rodriguez has truly been Mr. Jekyll and Hyde this year.
Wow, here's to next year though. He has the "stuff"

Also, whoever gave the go-ahead on the Ryan Cook trade....well stop, just stop.

I know the Red Sox are awful, but the 9 hits in this inning probably have a 0.00001% chance of happening. Make that 10 hits.

What are E-Rod's day/night splits?
Also, Robbie Ross should go play in traffic.

Have there ever been as many monstrous meltdown innings as we've witnessed this year?

Also, whoever gave the go-ahead on the Ryan Cook trade....well stop, just stop. They got him for cash and, in doing so, got a very low-cost look at a guy who, as recently as two years ago, was one of the better relievers in the league.
