Jimmy B with an economical 11 pitches. He can give us another inning, if we don't win it here.

See, bunts are a great idea, because anyone can do it! It's like automatic.

That at bat by Cecchini was ugly.

MLB umpires are just the worst.

That AB by Cecchini is what I imagine taking a random person and ordering them to bunt in a Major League Baseball game would look like.
Some pretty questionable calls by this ump this last inning.

Another side note: if Lovullo pitch ran anyone for Ortiz, the game is probably over. Didn't really know why De Aza didn't.

HOW DO YOU SEND ORTIZ THERE? PLEASE EXPLAIN THAT TO ME All year I've been very reluctant to lay this season at the feet of the coaching staff or the FO - in general I think coaches receive too much blame or credit for the performance of their players in professional sports. Butterfield is an exception. He consistently generates outs with poor decisions as third base coach. Hope we see someone else down there next year.

He would've gotten a much better jump, not even taking speed into account. May not have been as close as you think and more pressure would've been on the throw.

Save for Billy Hamilton, I'm not sure I think any other player would be more likely than not to be safe on that send.
Seriously, I'm beginning to think Butterfield's approach to 3B coaching is just him getting excited and dying for the run to score, so he involuntarily waves his arm.

This is exciting. To bad the sox didn't go rebuild this year and just go young top to bottom.

If only there was a WAR for third base coaches. Who's hurting the team more - Butterfield, Hanley, or Panda?[/b] Hanley and Panda, but I get the point.

Wow, that play right their is the end of the Breslow era, Bye. It's never over. This probably isn't even going to be top 10 in his worst appearance list. At least he didn't blow it earlier.

Pitching change, from bad to worse. Ladies and Gents please welcome Robbie Ross!!! Ross is our second best reliever. The way Tazawa has been in August, he may be outlet best right now. He should've been in before Breslow went out for a third inning.

Breslow's continued presence on this team truly is a mystery. Masterson, as wretched as he was, had some utility. He could make a start spot, if needed, and be used out of the pen against RHH. Breslow just brings you nothing.
