As Jaws said on ESPN that call on Chung at the end of the game is too ticky tacky to call, it puts the Refs in too much of a position of determining the outcome of the game. That said it was only one of many such calls against the Pats while at the same time the Broncos got away with many that could have been called. Penalties can be called on just about every play in football, the nature of the game. The running game was disappointing, Blount and the O-line need to do a better job. Not much in the way of holes or push by the O-line and Blount was tiptoeing. On the bright side, if Gronk and Hightower are not out for the season that is great news. If the Pats can go into the playoffs somewhat healthy they will be tough to beat. The playoffs and health are all that matters at this point.

Not calling for a fair catch on that one punt was pretty boneheaded. And yeah, on Denver's final drive of the fourth quarter we allowed two pretty long receptions which shouldn't have happened. Nevertheless the officiating leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

All in all, the NFL just feels sketchy and incompetent. That, plus the injuries plus the scandals are making it unenjoyable to follow, even when your team's winning. I honestly wonder where my football fandom will go when Brady/Belichick are done (in 5-10 years). Everything seems so arbitrary, awful league management, awful rules, terrible officiating deciding games, concussions, injuries to stars, all-time greats like Seau with CTE driven to suicide. It makes me sick if I spend too much time thinking about it. How's that for a pick-me-up. Also, I can't root for a team with no quarterback again. Don't make me do it! Hugh Millen ruined me.

You know what I'm talking about. I'm fine if you disagree and am not particularly interested in running it to the ground. Been out of touch, on vacation, so just catching up, here...but, no, I wasn't aware of what you were thinking, but apparently you have the secret on how to know what someone else is thinking...please pass that along...I'd find it a very useful tool.

I honestly think Belichick decided on the spot to cut Harper right after that punt. As usual, that's probably the riht call.

I thought the play calling was weird, but in what world did Brady miss too many throws? Off the top of my head, Brady missed Chandler twice down the sideline by badly over throwing him. Not easy throws but ones he can make and needed to in this game. He threw badly behind Gronk on a crossing pattern that all Gronk could do is reach back and knock it down. If we want to get picky since we are talking about the greatest QB of all time playing with a modified cast, one of the two throws to Chandler on that second drive wasn't a good throw and needed a difficult catch. One he needed to make since he hasn't made any this year. He had a bad throw deep to lafell too but got crushed so can't fault that one. LaFell should have been able to catch a deep ball earlier but he's so awkward running full speed trying to catch the ball he could not I also thought he forced all those sideline throws without even looking left to lafell or Martin. Go obsessed with Chandler one on one vs a linebacker which is kind of funny since he's sucked.

If he's not on the practice squad again I'll agree, but if he is then I'll think it was determined before the game that Amendola was coming back so he was gone since Martin is here

Most games are going to be a grind from here on out. With the possible exception of the Titan and Dolphin games.

Just giving away points on special teams.

I have seen Patriots punts blocked before when a defender made a freakish play, but I've not seen such a thoroughly blown protection. It's almost as if they spent too much time practicing that stupid dropkick.

Games like this highlight why using points per game is a terrible way to judge a defense.
I can argue the same thing about last weeks game as well just for a different reason.

This is what happens when teams take away the short pass. The Patriots can't run the ball or throw it deep.

More like this is what happens when you lose your top two receivers.

The Patriots had basically made 3 touch down drives by mid way thru the third but Brady made a bad play and caused a 14 point swing or at least a 10. Not sure driving the ball or not being able to has been an issue this game, but I'm stuck at an airport without the game on so what do I know.
Special teams... Might as well get it all out at once... Christ glad we have 9 safeties for special teams value

Just like to point out that win or lose, Gillette Stadium was rocking out "Your Love" right now. That's always awesome.
