As long as there weren't any further injuries. The Pats would be guaranteed a #1 or #2 seed if they win the next four games, which are certainly winnable, especially if Gronk is able to come back next week. Then they can hold serve until Edelman comes back in the playoffs.

Patriots downgrade LB Dont'a Hightower (knee) and starting guard Josh Kline (shoulder) to out for Sunday night's game vs. Texans.
The longer Hightower stays out the more worried I get.

I agree but the fact he's been practicing makes me pretty confident they are just being cautious because of how important he is and due to the fact the defense is still very very good and Collins is back. It's only been 2 games and he never rally left the sideline in the game he was injured.

I think the Steelers could have beaten the Bengals even with Andy Dalton the whole game, and the Dalton Bengals would have had a decent chance against the Broncos, but if they go up against the Broncos with A.J. McCarron we might well be limited to the #2 seed.

How the Broncos don't have 4-6 losses at this point amazes me. They needed defensive touchdowns to beat Cleveland and prevent getting swept by Oakland, they almost lost to Minnesota and Chicago, and the refs bailed them out of a home game vs. half of the Patriots. Either way, the Pats have 4 games remaining, with 2 of them of medium difficulty and 2 of them a bit easier, and since Denver and Cincy both lost, and play each other, the Pats can lose one of the games and still be guaranteed one of the top two spots. I'd worry more about being healthy and not getting the #3 seed than going all out for the #1 seed, since the Pats already proved that they can win at Denver this year.

Watch Keshawn Martin be an absolute beast for years now. He looks really great for this offense.

Patriots currently have more rushes (13) than pass attempts (12). Since start of '06 season, they're 52-0 when rush att >= pass attempts.
OMG Speier, you should stick to baseball.

Blount out for the game. Love how Bolden is stepping up today though.

So far the Texans are playing like an actual football team rather than a dumpster fire. In the meantime, Brian Hoyer has turned back into Brian Hoyer and his RT isn't helping him at all. I'm a bit disappointed by Chandler Jones today. He's had some great games this season but today his only contribution seems to be signaling a first down whenever one of his teammates makes a play.

Several big games down the stretch include NE - Jets, Pit-Den, and Den-Cincy. Can still clinch homefield early if those all go the right way.

Mgo--- I am a little disappointed in 95 as well but I'd like a better look on how the Texans blocked him. The right side was wide open, was the partly due to the Texans focusing more on Jones? Also, he was going against one of the better LT in the game. More importantly, the line was dominant as a whole.
If Leonard Johnson can be solid and Coleman gets back and steps in where he left off then this defense will be a bear come the playoffs, especially with 54 coming back.
The special teams would concern me if I didn't think that 11 and/or 80 would be catching the punts in the playoffs. In the mean time, just fair catch every damn punt.

I was thinking the same thing. We already lost two games due to our special teams unit.
Just let the defense stop the other team, get the ball back and let TB12 do his thing. Another 4-6 yards isn't worth a potential fumble. That goes for kickoffs too. Just fair catch it if its deep enough.
When you're the better team you don't need to take dumb risks.

Easily on IR... Wth.. That didn't look serious. That sucks... Big blow but hopefully, they are equipped to handle it. Pressure from the d-line is huge for this defense.
