Saturday, September 5, 2015 Placed OF Hanley Ramirez on the 15-day DL, retroactive to Aug. 27. Recalled INF Deven Marrero from Pawtucket (IL). SOX normal roster all season had 11 non-catcher position players and they are back to 11 with Marrero. Good move. Xander needs backup.

I have to edit this post, but can anyone make an argument that JBJ hasn't been the redsox best player for the last 45 days? all but 1 (me thinks) of his xbh, all but 2 rbi and he's now opsing 950 or whatever and after his complete breakout and followup big games he's continued to git, and hit the ball hard. It seems like the only thing the naysayers have left is he doesn't make contact or hes hitting cookies. It's the MLB. Mike Trout strikes out 150 times a year. Papi aside, I think JBJ has improved and been our best player the last month and a half...which is not so small a sample size

Yes, Mookie may be the best player on the Sox, or maybe Xander, or maybe JBJ. Wait, what about Papi, or Pedey? Of course if Rusney continues to develop, but so could Swihart and Vasquez. And Brockstar was our only AllStar, and deservedly so. Confusing. Instead of best player, can we settle for best team in 2016? Suddenly that seems possible if Dave can just build around these guys with a few upgrades. In the theater, I am told the recent heroics are part of a "big ending". We have gone from Les Miserables to Most Bappy Fellah, and are already excited about next season's opening,

But even as a non stat head, 45 games is a small sample for me. It's been a great sample though ,of what might be.

That's pretty close to 8 fWAR for a full season which is Mike Trout territory.

Mookie. Digging that he is going the other way now even with some inside pitches. He is going to hit for average extremely well with that approach. Been waiting for it all year. Love that he takes the ball out of the park with inside pitches also but he was getting very predictable. THIS was the only thing I didn't care for with his approach. You are right. With his speed, etc.....he could easily hit .300 next season.

Did I just hear that right? Papi only has 200 HR at Fenway now?

I really don't like it when hannigan catches E-Rod. There never on the same page. I can't wait till next year when both kids are ready to go. Don't get me wrong the pitcher bares most of the responsibility but you can tell if there is good chemistry.
This game Hannigan doesn't ask the ump for the check swing last game he caused catcher's interference on Ellsbury's swing. Plus I tend to baby the young kids.

I ran out of things to say about JBJ a few weeks ago.

Just stupid numbers for Bradley. They're going to have to stop pitching him up and in.
Add: they're just torturing pitchers right now

Not that I'm not enjoying this, but Jesus Christ I think Greenville could beat the Phillies right now.

The kids are playing so well, but I'd like to throw this out.......Josh Rutledge has played quite well and is only 26. Him and Holt give us 2 very solid options behind the starting infield. I hope Travis Shaw starts back up, but I have my doubts. Rutledge has been a solid pick up.

Wow. What a luxury it is to have an outfield that can take away a hit in the triangle. Incredible athleticism in all three positions out there.

And Craig is PH for Ortiz because ...... ?? Seriously. Craig needs to be in AAA or released already. Sunk cost = sunk cost. But I really can't find too much to be mad about this team right now. An absolute joy to watch.

And Craig is PH for Ortiz because ...... ?? As George "Boomer" Scott use to say. "Got my tater, the rest is gravy". I wonder if Papi is injured somehow? With the bullpen the Sox have, I wouldn't take Papi out on a whim with the score 6-1 still in the middle of the game. Especially at DH -- it won't hurt him to swing the bat a couple more times. I wonder if this is just pity deference toward a veteran. Ugh. So put him at 1B in place of Shaw, who looks as if he might be stalling out right now.
