loved reading Alex's report on all of the draft picks. This guy has to be my favorite player...2/3 the size of Eddie Gaedel Robby Sexton, LHP Round: 14. Pick: 418. Height: 2-1. Weight: 225. Age: 22. Bats: Left. Throws: Left. College: Wright State (Ohio). Gives new meaning to "little lefty." He may have some conditioning issues. 2-1 and 225. Maybe they should move him to.....short...stop?

Just think how small that strike zone is. OBP of 1.000

Slot is $1,232,800 Was hoping for $1mill even, but figured that was optimistic. Still, under slot. I'll take it. There's $132,800 we can give to Groome/Quintana/Jones

Tough to see the Sox offering Groome 4 Mil now. Not a big fan of the pick at only 130k under slot.

They can still offer Groome $4mill if they want to. But why do you care if they do if he will sign for less. You just have no idea what he will sign for. I don't either, but I still don't think it will take $4mill. I think $3.8mill will do it. I wouldn't be shocked if $3.6mill got it done. But what do I know.

I estimated Chatham at 1,110,000 and have Groome at 4.2. I do not have them signing Quintana and Jones though. Would you rather have Groome and no Quintana and Jones, or Jones and Quintana and no Groome? If Groome signs for 4 million or less that gives us a lot more flexibility. I'd rather have Quintana than Groome. Who else besides the seniors will sign for a big discount/100k or more?

Clears up almost 200k when you factor in the 5%. I would have preferred a little less too, but we'll probably be saying that for almost every signing that gets released.

I know we'd get the 13th pick next year, but if it's an either or situation I definitely take the top 3 talent, it's unlikely a talent like that falls next year and I'm not taking that risk for a guy regarded as a mid 3rd rounder. FWIW, I think there's a good chance we land Groome and Quintana.

I meant Groome over Quintana. It is no knock on Quintana though.

My guess is that Quintana is the only "top" player we sign past round 10.

Another nice little MLB perk down the road is that anybody that makes a team 25 man roster has his health insurance paid for life. I don't think this is true. They offer you the right to be on the MLB Health Plan for life, but they do not pay the premiums for you. I wonder how it works if you get another job with crappier health insurance offered. Do you have to take it because our wonderful Obamacare program doesn't allow you to get other health insurance if your employer offers it.... Anyways good draft

Please, no politics on the main board. The threads become hard when people challenge each other to a duel as is.

Looks like Juan Carlos Abreu has signed. His Instagram bio reads Professional Baseball Player for the Boston Redsox #RedsoNation. That's exciting!

Great story. 94-96mph fastball. Not sure what else he has, but that's a decent start.

Between Chatham and the 5% wiggle room, we could offer Groome 3.67 now. The senior signs should open up an additional 350k....so technically its not that hard to see how we get to 4 mill if thats what it takes. If he will sign for 3.6...then great, we're there now and have extra to spend later. If its 3.8, we're close now and should have at least a little to offer Quintana. Anderson, Marrero, and Espinal could also all sign somewhat below slot although I'm not banking on a ton. Dalbec and Shawaryn should almost certainly sign for slot. Jones isn't going to happen. I really Quintana though...big power, arm strength, and great dirt dog attitude from what I can tell.
