(Picking Ball over Crawford was a bigger blunder, but nobody knew how good he would be). |

Here are the draft day rankings for the six SoxProspects ranked prospects. Note that they concern themselves only with baseball talent and leave other issues like sign-ability out of the equation. Name (drafted at #) PG/BA/MLB Groome (12) 1/3/1 Chatham (51) 62/101/63 Anderson (88) 76/151/140 Dalbec (118) 112/118/88 Shawaryn (148) 94/77/139 Nogosek (178) 177/164/175 It's easy to see that we did very well but the draft strategy was heavily slanted towards signing Groome.
