The Red Sox have put 110 more runners on base than any other team if you isolate out home runs. 37.1% of the players who have reached base for the Red Sox have gone on to score, the highest number in the American League. The next highest is Texas, at 36.8%. So leaving runners on base is not the problem. The RISP is brutal considering none of these pitchers have been extraordinary in any way. It's something like 2-11, but with one of those the Leon infield hit and the other Shaw getting thrown out at second. Zero RBI. Lame. It's really not a problem.....just look at the bright side of things.

Looks as though LOB could be our undoing tonight. It happens.

13 runner left on base. So many chances to add runs.

So frustrating to watch a clearly winnable game like this slip through their fingers like water and smoke.

Looks as though LOB could be our undoing tonight. It happens. I just wish it wasn't against such soft pitching. The score looks like a pitching duel.

That's like telling Cardinals fans not to be disappointed in their team's standings, because they're second in the NL in run differential. Whole-season non-granular stats don't tell the whole story.

It's irrational, it's emotional . . . but I hate Craig Kimbrel

Not a save situation. Not to Mr. Kimbrel's liking. He likes his outings very particular.

Well, at least Kimbrel in means a couple of walks, maybe a bomb, and a three-run loss that will be easier to shrug off than a 1-run RISP disaster.

oh no. leadoff walks are not good. Followed by smash by the first baseman - definitely not good - followed by a single to right - terrible. Hopefully DD is looking for a closer because they will need one if they hope to contend.

Yuck. It's insane and irrational how poor Kimbrel has been in non-save situations. It makes no sense and I don't buy the mental thing. This was a HUGE inning for a shut down.

I ask again, what has Mr. DDo done that has actually helped this team this year?

Yes! Called it! 5-run drubbing is much less unpleasant than losing a close one.
Yeah, Kimbrel is "elite." Smh.
