The bad news is that reports are that teams are being told that the Cap is coming in now at $101. So, even if the C's lose the lottery and get the 4th pick, they are going to have to move salary to get max room. When figuring out how much dont forget to adjust for the fact that max money reduces too

So I've been thinking a bit and this isn't to let Stevens off the hook, but some players on this roster have an inflated view of how good they are and that's affected their games. Crowder is a big offender of this. He's got all this press because he's under paid but he takes it as if he's a star player. He's not even close to a star and when he plays with an ego instead of with a "dirt dog" mentality his level of play drops. He seems to think he's a top 3 player on a championship team when in reality if he's better than your 4th or 5th best player you are in serious trouble.

When figuring out how much dont forget to adjust for the fact that max money reduces too I did. With what seems to be a commitment to have last year's other 2 1st rounders on the books, max was likely to require moving salary (I'm including not offering KO in that category) anyway. The extra reduction in the projection just furthers that.

That article assumes they can keep Yabusele overseas but everything we're reading now says he's signed. So there goes 2.7.
And then we're back into the discussion of potentially decimating the roster to get the room (see back prior to the trading deadline in this thread on that idea).

Ford just did who he thinks teams pick. He says currently we take Fultz, but that Ball is a very close second and they could switch spots if we have pick #1. Made it sound like draft workouts and interviews could determine the pick.
I wouldn't worry about max cap space. This will play out like it did with Warriors and Durant. Once a player agrees and only then they will make the moves they have to to sign that player. Who they would move will become a lot clearer after draft.

At least NBA free agency is after the draft. If they get Fultz you can just trade Bradley.

Someone took it a step further and calculated the chances Boston gets Fultz by including scenarios where Boston gets the 2nd pick but a team like LAL gets #1 and takes Ball. Somewhere around 45%. Not really meaningful mind you, just found it funny that someone did that.

I will say this, it's not going to be an easy choice. That's why Danny makes the big bucks.

The pessimist in me is certain that he won't have that choice.

Fultz is a clear number one, if they took Ball over him if they were in that spot I'd be so pissed.

Right now I would take Fultz, I would say he's the likely #1 pick. I just don't think he's the clear #1 pick.
Last year proved Danny doesn't go by public opinion.
Where it gets really interesting is if we get pick #3 or #4.

Things expected: Brooklyn clinching the #1 spot in the lottery (for Boston)
Things unexpected: Brooklyn doing so by having Phoenix crush Oklahoma City.

I hope Pheonix steals that number 2 pick away from the Lakers and the Celtics get the number one pick. Pheonix could be really good in 2 years if that happens, that team is really young but has a couple of really nice looking players.

I just hope Lakers don't get a top 3 pick, no team deserves it more.

I go back and forth. Mostly I agree on LAL. However:
1. If it's them vs Philly, I choose them. Not sure I want the Sixers rewarded for their methods.
2. My formative NBA years were when BOS and LAL were at the top of the heap. Miss that.
3. I don't want to wish bad things for an individual but watching Balls dad get what he wants (Son playing on the Lakers) and have it go poorly might just be epic.

Theres nothing he cant do offensively.

I really dont think anyone would have given Horford that contract the Celtics gave him.

LaVarr Ball is just a dumb dumb human. At some point his son is going to need to tell him to shut his mouth. He's such a despicable sports parent. I don't want to say he's the worst because he loves his kids and is there for them and that's the most important thing. However, he wants their success as much for himself as he does for them. It's ridiculous and the man should be ashamed of himself.
This is also the worst of our sports media too. He should be a nonstory but they go out of their way to give him a platform; I wish they wouldn't.
