Sounds like Boston likes Smith (per a GM via the Herald). Not at 3, mind you. Kind of want the Celtics to dangle Brown to the Knicks at their spot in order to acquire Dennis Smith. No thank you. Brown and Tatum are two players who you can't really ask for better character and work ethic from. I know I put more stock on that than most but in the NBA I think it's really important and makes me feel more confident in them both reaching their potential and being winning type players. As much as Smith's ability entices me; his work ethic is a concern. I'm not giving up a kid like Jaylen for that.

I still differ from the rest of the board when it comes to the 3 pick. I still hope it's Jackson. His defense and motor is the separator for me. Tatum has some nice moves on offense but on nights where he isn't scoring, he can't play defense like Jackson can.

I just like Dennis Smith as a potential replacement for Thomas. While Brown is a little redundant with all these wing players here and coming here potentially.

So any rumors on what we are doing with our high second round pick? Any players being mentioned? The talent level for that part of the draft is crazy high this year. It's basically a late first in normal draft. High chance you can get a rotational player. Who do you guys want them to target? Jonah Bolden Frank Jackson Dwayne Bacon Tony Bradley I like all 4, but I think the chances are slim that anyone but Bacon is there. The other 3 seem to be on the rise as the draft nears. I do think a bunch of players will get picked higher than mocks are predicting. So you never know. I just want us to keep the pick and take best player available. I like so many players it's really hard to target a guy.

Depends on if you think they are going to pay AB $20Mn and if they are definitely thinking Jackson/Tatum. I think Brown is going to very good.

I would be plenty okay if Danny somehow gets both Sacramento picks and draft Tatum and DSJ. Not happening ever but it would be nice.

Even before reports of Sac turning down the LAL offer (though maybe division rivalry impacted their thinking), some folks thought Boston would have to add a sweetener.
EDIT: That being said, the 2 picks for 1 would also cost Boston some of the space that they had gained by moving down to 3. So they might be looking to move salary anyway.
I'd also point out, though, that 10 is likely not high enough for Smith.

So now everyone is picking Isaac to the Celtics. He was the first guy they worked out (I didn't know that), BUT they did work out Tatum twice. Right now I don't know who they are going to take but I'm pretty sure it's between those two.

I'm definitely more comfortable with paying both Bradley and Smart then Isaah, which also probably factors into the decision. I'm not knocking Brown, but I do believe he is a step down from Tatum and Jackson, like Umass said.

Tatum if they stay at 3 or Isaac if they move down??? I think either is at 3... you can't move Down too Much and guarantee Isaac will be there. He only worked out for teams in top 4

If you can work out a deal with Sac though, they get Jackson and you get either Tatum or Isaac (maybe both are their if Phoenix goes Fox - though I think PG was only a target if they could get Ball).

I do wonder what that extra is needed for that number 10 pick with the 5 pick from Sacremento.

Phoenix is offering #4 in a trade for a star.
NYK sounds like they are listening on KP for a top 4 and established starter.
SA is shopping Green and LA.

Just sounds like Pheonix is going to end up with KP one way or another. Boston could match any offer Pheonix has though, probably why the KP sweepstakes are so interesting.

Word is they turned down the 2 for 5 and 10 I heard Magic tried to bamboozle them into a clause that wouldn't allow them to draft Ball, not sure how veritable that was lol. Damn if the Porzingod is truly available and Danny doesn't trade for him then he's an absolute imbecile. Enough is enough.

The price for KP is 2 starters and a high pick. So you have to think that Crowder or Brown plus the number 3 pick is just the starting point.
Maybe the Knicks opt for 2 high picks instead of the another starter in the Celtics case.
Not sure if KP is worth that much.

Phil Jackson on Kristaps: "As much as we love this guy, we have to do what's best for the club."
He is definitely available. Since they traded the chance at Fultz I don't really care much about the other guys, I'm not attached to anyone. It's a matter of what else they want.

I want no part of Isaac. Sure he has upside, but his body and disappearing act scare me to death.
It's official no one has a clue, sure sounds like Celtics are trying to drum up trade interest. By this time last year, Brown was the pick.
Is it correct that only Tatum has worked out twice? Still think it's Jackson or Tatum, leaning Tatum. Wildcards are if Lakers take Jackson, which seems unlikely.

I imagine that could turn into two picks like I mentioned in my last post though. The starting point is probably Crowder or Brown and the three pick, I imagine. Probably the Laker protected pick could also be part of the package. Not sure if I do that deal. Edit- I'd probably do the deal if it was for Crowder, number 3, and the Lakers protected pick. I'm walking away if you have to include one of either Brown and the number three pick. I tell the Knicks you only get one in this case. Edit again- maybe you throw in a Memphis or the LA Clippers pick to add value for the Knicks.
