I don't care if the bases are loaded in the 9th of a 1 run game we are winning, we should just walk Donaldson the rest of the series.

And Blake Snell is walking the ballpark versus the Yankees. 3-1 Yankees in the second. Bases loaded with no one out.

sloppy footwork by X...that play should have been made.
tough start for Sale tonight. Jays are putting up tough at bats. I wish the guy could get some easy contact outs.

The Sox need to find a way to win this game so they only need two wins from the next five games especially with the Astros coming into town. I don't want to have to count on the Yankees having to lose.

Happ owns us. Were are Happless. I am not Happ-y.

If Sale got Happ's strike zone, he'd have zero walks and 30 less pitches.

And Sale clearly isn't as sharp tonight.
I'm glad he got to throw 12 extra pitches in a meaningless inning in his last start.

We are not playing like a first place team relishing being home. I am having flash backs to last year's backwards, limping slide into the playoffs

If Sale got Happ's strike zone, he'd have zero walks and 30 less pitches. Yes, but 2 of the home runs have been on pitches that caught too much of the plate. He is just a bit snake bit tonight and the Jays have put up tough at bats. I think he has pitched pretty well. The slider is a problem for him tonight.

Does this team realize the division isn't locked up yet?

Please somebody defend the decision to pitch Sale in the 8th inning in his last start now. Someone do it and entertain me.
Does this start boost team morale?

Last season the Red Sox completed a hot streak to put them at 92-63 before they limped thru the rest of the season losing 8 or 9, finishing at 93-69 before getting swept. And they had a horrendous clincher that took the fun out of the party.
The Red Sox completed their hot streak at Game 155 for the second year in a row bringing them to 91-64 with a 5 game lead with 7 left to play.
Now the Sox lead will be down to 3, as the Red Sox have another uphill battle to climb and a decimated lineup, one that clearly doesn't hit lefty starters.
Ideally Pomeranz and Sale are done pitching in the regular season and we see Elias and Velazquez gets starts this weekend, but with the 3/4/5 starters going, if NY wins again tomorrow the lead is down to 2 and suddenly the Sox need a tired Pomeranz and Sale just to try to hang onto the division, all while the lineup is pretty banged up.
This is not the scenario you'd want going into the playoffs.

All I want is to see him pitch with the same strike zone Happ is getting. It's twice as easy to get guys out. Maybe he doesn't feel like the only pitches that will be called strikes are the ones right down the middle.

Sale spent a little extra energy in his previous start for seemingly no good reason at all. Now in his next start, he clearly wasn't the same guy and gave up a poor outing this time around. THIS isn't a top 5 reason why the Sox aren't losing tonight?!!!!
