And they're behind already. They're going to turn this clinching thing into an aggravating thing. Porcello has been such a pinata this year. Really wish Price could start.

Hope Sale pitches better against the Twins>HAHAHAHAHA Don't care what the NYY are doing cuz they ain't catching the Sox. Sox can only catch them (if that makes sense?)

Upside to not clinching quick -- both Porcello's and (probably) Fister's last starts are completely meaningful.
And now downstairs to start the game. The Coolidge Corner has blessedly* scheduled another biggest-screen showing for mother! ** next week, so I get to stay home tonight.
*, ** Yeah, it got an F Cinemascore, and I've got it ranked as the #2 movie of the year of the 57 I've seen. Have to see it again, but I much prefer to put two weeks between viewings rather than one. "Blessedly" is a pun -- it's a religious allegory, and realizing that is the whole key to thinking it's amazing rather than idiotic.

It didn't take long for Porcello to give up his obligatory HR.

Tough Start, but we are not losing this game. What we have is that, for the third night in a row, our best pitchers are not executing. They are grooving pitches against a power hitting team - that just won't do. We don't have the offense to compensate for deep holes.

I hate having to do it again, but the guys are capable.

Well they are beat up, and the organization is prone to run hot or cold (since the Francona Era)..
It is wonderful for baseball. As a fan since '67, I have also witnessed the rise of sports entertainment, and it seems, as great Sox fan Stephen King might put it, that our world has moved on.
So I can't stop the little voice whispering... "Kayfabe"

Got one back - good. Farrell needs to have a really quick hook on Porcello - can't let this hole get any deeper....plenty of time to get it back, and Estrada looks to be hittable.

Isn't this where we complain about being too aggressive ? I'm confused.

but what's the hesitation with putting Benny in right, Young in left. benny's a former center fielder more than capable of handling right Benny hasn't played a inning in RF in his pro career outside of maybe spring training this year. Does anyone really think he'd be so uncomfortable out there that it would screw up his career if he played a game or two in RF? Or that he wouldn't be 10 times better than Young?
