Upside to not clinching quick -- both Porcello's and (probably) Fister's last starts are completely meaningful. And now downstairs to start the game. The Coolidge Corner has blessedly* scheduled another biggest-screen showing for mother! ** next week, so I get to stay home tonight. *, ** Yeah, it got an F Cinemascore, and I've got it ranked as the #2 movie of the year of the 57 I've seen. Have to see it again, but I much prefer to put two weeks between viewings rather than one. "Blessedly" is a pun -- it's a religious allegory, and realizing that is the whole key to thinking it's amazing rather than idiotic. I already know I'm going to love that movie based on the bad reviews.

It sucks that Porcello also has to be unlucky along with bad. That weak contact was a win for Porcello.

Hey Rick/Vazquez/Red Sox, do you remember sinkers? Seriously, why does he never throw them anymore, especially when Bautista is up and a double play ends the inning.

Isn't this where we complain about being too aggressive ? I'm confused. if he was out definitely. and he probably should have been out with a proper tag. but with 2 outs it's all right to send him there according to strategy

I actually would rather have Fister than Porcello in the postseason at this point. I don't get it, Rick has enough velo and movement to be getting folks out.

He really doesn't have enough to be pitching up in the zone continually. The evidence is his home runs. He should be throwing mostly sinkers and an occasional 4 seamer up instead of the other way around.

And that right there is why you can't leave Hanley off the playoff roster

Benny hasn't played a inning in RF in his pro career outside of maybe spring training this year. Does anyone really think he'd be so uncomfortable out there that it would screw up his career if he played a game or two in RF? Or that he wouldn't be 10 times better than Young? They don't like putting their players in uncomfortable positions. I'm not the one saying this but this is the reason why they don't do it.

I want Porcello out of this game after the next inning. He chokes in big games. Price should be lurking down there.

They don't like putting their players in uncomfortable positions. I'm not the one saying this but this is the reason why they don't do it. Ya mean like Chris Young playing RF? I understand it, but it's just stupid as hell. All of our outfielders can play any of the 3 OF positions better than anyone else on the roster and it's not close.
