OK - Porcello has his 5 innings and (hopefully) his win - get him out of there!
And - offense - keep piling on, please!

all things considered, against a hot blue jay lineup, it wasn't the worst outing of the year for Rick.

I don't know about y'all, but I tune into Red Sox broadcasts so that I can look at 3 middle-aged men sitting in a confined space!

Is there really not enough time to stretch Price out? I think he's gonna piggyback either Fister or Porcello. I don't think he's gonna be the Andrew Miller fireman guy.

Great sign to see this type of life in the offense in the last week of the season - we didn't see this last year when things really tailed off. And with Mookie and Nunez on the bench (and hopefully back before long)...great stuff.

Looking ahead to the Houston series
Peacock - a rightie (I don't know much at all about him) - they seem to keep him at 6 innings max per game (looking at his last 10 game log on ESPN)
Morton - another rightie - pretty steady in his last 10 games - seems like a 6 inning guy as well, not many hits or walk
McCullers rightie - recently back from injury, low innings pitched, last two starts (the first after his return) pretty shaky
McHugh - rightie - also low IP guy, not many hits or walks
Certainly a few wins to be had among that bunch.
So we miss Verlander.
Giles and Devinski seem to be the main pen guys.
I confess to not knowing much about this team at all, except they have lots of power in the order and some impressive hitters.

What if, instead of starting Porcello or Fister in the playoffs, we just had the bullpen pitch the whole game? And Price could be the first arm out there? And he could pitch like 5-6 innings?

I hope Toronto gives the Yankees as much trouble as they gave us. Of course I expect them to score about 3 runs in the series.

I think that Workman is feeling the effects of quite a bit of good work on his first year back from rehab after surgery - his sharpness has been reduced recently....tired arm?
Third homer in his last 10 appearances.

Great win - magic number likely to be 2. We can do this - four home games. Going to be exciting - gotta keep the intensity up!

Magic Number is 2. I feel reasonable confident that some mix of our wins and MFY losses will equal 2 in the next 4 days.
I called it. We weren't losing this game.
Get em tomorrow.

Pretty amazing stat - Porcello 38 HR this year, most any Red Sox pitcher has ever given up (according to Mutnanski). His stats this year are so similar to his pre-Cy year.
