That game wasn’t always pretty, but man the ending was fun.

Great ending to that game, Tatum had 5 pts 2 assists in the last 3:30 minutes. As a rookie consistently producing during crunch time is so impressive, we are starting to see him step up even with the rookie wall looming.
Celts 15-1 when Tatum takes 12 shots or more with the lone loss being game 1 vs Cavs. So that would be 24-14 when he takes 11 or fewer shots. I think their is a message in there, shoot more and don't stop when the C's get healthy.

I'm kind of ticked I missed yesterday's game. Looked awesome on the highlights.
On a side note, the more Rozier shows that he can handle more and more minutes at a high level, the more I think Smart is a goner this trade deadline. I don't think he's definitely gone, but the Celtics are already showing their stripes on the future of Marcus Smart.

I’ll take Denver’s first for Smart.

I don’t think a computer model can predict a player like Smart.

I’ll take Denver’s first for Smart. They were talking Denvers first and Mudiay which is a very solid offer, it also removes them from Evans sweepstakes, which is a plus.

I find it weird they have his offense improving and his D getting worse. We have no clue if he'll ever be able to shoot, but I can certainly see his D improving.

Marcus Morris is extremely underwhelming.

Oh look, Stevens completely forgets to use a timeout again and let’s his team go down huge.

The Raptors seem like they're hitting every single shot. Celtics are losing control of this game.

Marcus Morris completely kills the offense at times. It's inexcusable that he has shot the ball more than anyone in the team other than Tatum.

Pathetic effort. The defense is just not good anymore.

Toronto is playing a beautiful game right now. But yeah, very low effort on defense, guys are falling asleep on rotations and there's 0 intensity out there. One of those nights.

Pathetic effort. The defense is just not good anymore. I’ll be concerned if they can’t step it up in the playoffs. I expect they can. Mid season. Lulls. Last lull they had they rallied off like 3 straight games holding teams under 90. They can play D; it’s just hard to go thru and 82 game season playing that intensely every week. We are honestly likely better off if they don’t so they do not burn out.

Lou Williams is nearing a contract extension with Clippers. So the chances you get Evans on the cheap are gone, I know it wzs slim, but they are gone. First round pick is almost certain now. Maybe Danny moves on to Rodney Hood, he doesn't create for others like Evans and Williams, but the guy can shoot and score. Young player, restrictive free agent next year. If you trade Smart he fits into the second unit.
Morris needs to go, I was hoping Stevens system would help increase his efficiency, but it hasn't. Heck our lack of playmakers means he's trying way too much. He's just not a good fit. Nevermind once you add Monroe, his role will be reduced, well I hope it is.
File this under not going to happen, but Morris and Yabu to Jazz for Hood, Nader, Larkin, our 1st yo Grizz for Evans and Smart to Dever for their first this year and Mudiay.

I think people are being too hard on Morris. He’s been put in a tough spot and he’s been hurting. I feel like I’m a deeper team next year, if healthy, he can be a great piece on the cheap.

With next years cap crunch, is that a great contract? Nevermind he just doesn't seem to fit the Celtics way. You play him and Irving and you just have to guys that chuck up shots. Now Irving is elite, but Morris isn't. Next year Brown or Tatum most likely move to bench, basically taking Morris spot. Cap experts have said you'll be able to sign good free agents to vet minimum deals this offseason. Which I agree with, Morris would likely get bi-annual money, which is less than he is making. He keeps missing games. If he isn't 100%, sit him till he is. I just don't think he will be for the rest of the year. Most likely needs a clean up surgery or something like that.

Next year Brown or Tatum most likely move to bench, basically taking Morris spot. Will that happen, though? I've been daydreaming about a Irving, Hayward, Brown, Tatum and Horford line-up since Gordon went down, that would be too awesome. Yeah it's kind of small, but Tatum did spend quite some time at the 4 this year already and he holds his own out there admirably. At the very least Brown/Tatum will fit like Iguodala in the Celtics best line-up. That team will be seriously awesome.

I've seen reports that the Celtics expect Tatum to actually grow another inch or two (a la Durant and Giannis); can't remember where. One of the benefits of taking a 19 year old. Doubt it helps by next year but makes him playing the stretch 4 a little easier too.

With the extension of LW it appears that the Clippers feel like they can remain competitive which is good news for the C's. Hopefully they are right and it leads to a mid to late teens pick next year. They could have decided to rebuild and the C's would have gotten squat. Looking ahead to next years deadline the C's could have 2,3,4 1st round picks. Not the ideal situation but they would definitely have the ammunition to pull off a trade netting a very good player at the deadline. Next year is really shaping up as a year in which anything is possible.
