I'm not sure that was an argument though. Just a difference of opinion of where Hayward's health is at (disagreement). Umass has a right to think he's not coming back, I have a strong optimism that he is (with the Celtics hinting around all season about it and now the videos coming out). It's been one of the lingering things that has been hanging around all season.
Frankly too, the difference between a Hayward off the bench in the playoffs vs. not having Hayward in the playoffs could be difference between a Finals appearance or not.

Kind of funny that between the Celtics, Sox, and Patriots, they kind of have or had one big dilemma this whole year in general that will/has make or break their year-
The big story with the Celtics the whole season was/is the Hayward injury. If he can comeback, it gives the Celtics the last scoring option they could possibly use and go for a run at the Finals. If not, then I don't think there's any shot. Kyrie can't carry the load every night in the playoffs (even though that's what the Celtics will ask of him now with Hayward out).
The big story with the Sox was J.D. Martinez. Right now he could be the difference between winning and losing the division (if everyone stays relatively healthy). The Sox needed that difference maker badly.
The big story with the Patriots was the Malcom Butler benching. If he plays, the Patriots probably come up with at least one more stop then they should have had in that game and won the Superbowl. Who knows, that might be Brady's last shot at a title ever too.
I personally have talked about 2 of these subjects ad nauseam because of the importance of them. I try to stay away from dragging stories along and get bored with them, but these ones are/were so compelling that you couldn't turn away from it personally.
Really the 3 other big sports stories in this town the past 20 years was the construction of the 2004 Red Sox (acquiring Schilling mostly) and their epic Yankee series in the playoffs. Another was the Celtics acquiring Kevin Garnett who turned that whole franchise around. The last was the deflategate saga and Tom Brady winning title numbers 4 and 5 in spite of it (and becoming the greatest ever in his sport).

I am very skeptical that Hayward plays high-level basketball again this year. Look at his legs in that video— they look borderline emaciated, which is to be expected for a guy who was in a cast for four months. It’s going to take a lot of time before he can strengthen his lower half enough to play meaningful minutes in a competitive basketball game and be the player he was before his injury, and it’s in no one’s interest to rush that process.

Yeah pedrofan, I also really really want to believe it could happen, but I just don't think it will. Gordon is a fighter to even be in this position right now, there just isn't enough time left.

You two can literally argue about anything, huh? How did I argue? I posted a link, didn't reply directly to his post and just gave my opinion. Made a point of not replying to his last post. While he repeatedly kept replying to my posts. I posted that link because I think we needed the complete story, not to argue. Nevermind people can debate things without arguing, but for some reason anytime I post something I'm arguing and everyone else is debating.

Me and Umass haven't been in a argument (debate) where it's lasted more than 4 posts in a while. Perception isn't real in this case.

It is Stevens job to always temper expectations, but I believe him to a degree. There might not be enough time left.
Just holding out hope. Year is lost because of one bad injury and it blows.

The decision is binary since there are only two "degrees" : yes/no; he plays/he doesn't play. It couldn't be clearer.

I'm saying that I'm leaving the door open for Hayward to pull off a miracle and find a way to be out there somehow, someway. It's the only thing I got as a Celtics fan to hope for a Finals appearance.

Celtics are keeping up with Houston so far. Both teams will probably end up with over 100 points tonight. Going to have to score a lot to win this game. Houston just has too much firepower.

You can’t put a worse lineup out there than the one Stevens sent out just now.

Rozier comes down with that RB and gets mugged for the turnover, no call.

Tonight is not a night for frustration, it took the best team in basketball (right now) all they had on their home court and they almost came up short. In a perfect world that Smart shot goes in, it was beautiful. What an incredible effort by the Celtics.
Really, really proud of this team in nights like this.

Greg Monroe really changes the bench. I also loved how the Celtics went after the Rockets in the post all game long. Horford missed a bunch of shots he normally makes, but I love game plans where he looks to score in the post.

So Anthony Davis is going for an MRI on his ankle today... conflicting reports but some are suggesting he’s out a few weeks... durability
