This team is amazing already, but releasing or DLing Nunez and DLing Hanley would go a long way towards making them even better.

Porcello didn't have his command at all tonight, but holy shit the defense is atrocious...it always seems to be when he pitches

the problem is, even with Pedey back, they are planning a lot of rest days which still means a lot of Nunez on the field.

This game had trouble written over it before it started. i will take 2 out of 3 on the road against a division opponent every time.
Welcome back Pedroia night tomorrow. Check in with you guys tomorrow.

The GDT doesn't get a lot of action when the Sox lose sometimes too. People make a big deal about people complaining and posting a lot during losses, but it isn't the case.
When there isn't a lot to talk about, there won't be a lot of posting. This was pretty much a scheduled loss unless Porcello was perfect tonight (and he wasn't).

Bogey was not out at 2nd, and it didn't look like Nunez was out at first.

Snell is just a terrible matchup for us.
Take 2 of 3 and call it a series. We’ll at least have a MLB caliber 2nd baseman tomorrow

On the bright side, we also lose an inning pitched because of losing a road game, and we clearly aren't using Kelly/Kimbrel tonight....

Nunez shouldn't be playing second ever again in his career.
Also, how does the home plate ump miss a obvious out call with a out that's directly in front of him? Just awful.

Wouldn’t this be a good game to let Swihart catch a bit?

We've had our share of ho-hum, routine (comfy) victories this year. This is one of those rare boring losses in the making - a game perfectly suited to the dozen or so people there to watch.
Let's get outta Tamper (as Remdog pronounces it!)

Oh - and Hanley has no earthly idea of what he is doing this month. The bat on his shoulder is just a decoration.

Hanley's just guessing up there - but I'll bet he STILL bats third tomorrow, STILL over Moreland against a righthanded starting pitcher.

This is great - this team makes even routine losses exciting...and we now have the Rodney misaligned hat pitching. Who knows!

Well, now WE know...good try - nice to see the bats wake up. Onward!

2/3 of the lineup are at the Mendoza line or under in May.

At this rate, HR's option will kick in by August. The only thing I can think of is that Moreland (and Holt) have some injury we don't know about.

Last few posts of this thread re: Hanley are kind of funny in hindsight. I guess they figured out a way to make sure Cora stops starting him
