Lol when Xander dropped the ball on the nice JBJ throw I said to my step dad-
"Doesn't matter, Sale will strike out the next 2 batters anyway."

It would have been incredible if it worked out, but the ball was at least 10 feet off the bag. The collision is what made Xander drop it.

If you get the chance to see it on replay you can see the runner swiped Xanders arm and helped knock the ball out of his glove a bit like Arod. Everyone missed it somehow. I think he should be out.

Strong JBJ throw*** It was definitely not a easy play, not blaming Xander or nothing.

Looked like the base runner reached out with both hands and swiped at Xanders Glove hand. I thought that wasn't allowed

Candelario has been a pest today. Singlehandedly driving up Sale's pitch count.

Detroit graphic: Sale's 5 game streak of 11 or more Ks and 1 or less BBs is the longest in major league history.

So the Orioles gave up 4 runs in the bottom of the 8th to lose 5-4 but also that meant that Britton never entered the game. I was hoping he'd have to pitch and make him less likely to be used against us in this next series. Not that it's a huge concern.

Should have been an out.

Should have been an out. The runner has a right to run to the base as long he was in the baseline. He can collide with the baseball, a guy trying to tag him. The runner was legal there.

The runner can't swipe at the defenders arms to knock the ball loose which the runner did and it was a factor in Xander dropping the ball. Everyone just missed it, as did you Pedro.

It's a really hard thing to prove in even replay. So it's a moot point.

There’s a bullpen cart. Why wouldn’t you use it? “I wanted to drive,” Hector Velazquez said. “But they wouldn’t let me.”

Great start by Sale. If we can hold the lead, it'd still be a good series even after a disappointing effort yesterday. Hopefully the Baltimore trade talks heat up before the next series gets going.

It's a really hard thing to prove in even replay. So it's a moot point. It was really easy to see on replay, but the ball was already loose so it didn't matter. And again, I doubt it's reviewable. But still, you're wrong about what you said about the runner. He is not allowed to swipe at the ball or the glove.

But still, you're wrong about what you said about the runner. He is not allowed to swipe at the ball or the glove. He isn't. You're right, but he collided with the person tagging him first and again that one play would have been impossible to overturn even if it was reviewable.
