i don't know. you have to factor in that the pitcher is not pitching well. Sandy Leon slashing .161/.230/.214 in July... Meanwhile, Swihart is now .461/.533/.692 in July...

Followed by the daily reminder he’s not good at offense He has a .940 OPS since the AS break. Mookie has a .742. Are you trying to tell me that he’s good offensively because he has a .940 OPS in a handful of games?

This is total BS: #Statcast Verified account @statcast 10m10 minutes ago More Is there any ball @jackiebradleyjr can't get to? The redsox CF got a standing ovation at Fenway for this brilliant 4-star play, in which he covered 78 feet to convert a 42% catch probability.

Eovaldi has completed four innings and has thrown 50 pitches. Dave Dombrowski for King of the Universe!

I wonder if Eovaldi can teach E-Rod a bit about pitch efficiency.

I feel like Cora is playing MLB the Show today with this lineup. JBJ is definitely on cheat mode on defense.

Swihart is really upping his trade value or his value to the Red Sox. He looks like he could play anywhere on the field. I doubt they kept him this long to trade him for a rental so unless he got back a great return I’m assuming he’s here.

No, I'm trying to tell you it's kind of ridiculous to complain about his offense in the middle of a scorching hot streak. I wasn’t complaining - complaining about his offense being bad is like complaining about water being wet. Just is what it is.

This is just a remarkable season - an unusual combination of being a bit snake-bit (quite a few injuries) and charmed (whoever they plug in is effective) and super talented at most positions. Throw in a breath of fresh air in a young, new manager (Cora)....
All adds up to big time fun!

I just want to point out that Nunez has multiple walks in this series. A guy that Dan Bard would have difficulty walking.
That being said, I feel like we've been 1 or 2 hits away from being up 7-0 by now. At least Berrios is at nearly 100 pitches through 4 innings.

The redsox CF got a standing ovation at Fenway for this brilliant 4-star play, in which he covered 78 feet to convert a 42% catch probability. The wall is what really makes the play difficult. 42% sounds about right if we're not in Fenway, and Catch Probability doesn't take ballpark into account. FWIW, JBJ is slower than the major league average CF. Seems reasonable that with no wall, a fast CF glides over and makes that play a little less than 50% of the time. They did update Catch Probability for 2018 to include the difficulty of catches made within 8 feet of an outfield wall. Looked possible that JBJ's catch was just outside that range - and fell through the cracks, so to speak.
