Portnoy is the man and those towels are cool. If you want to criticize people who co-sign Barstool and Portnoy you'll have a long list of athletes and celebrities. Pucks on net and cycling the puck was key in sweeping that scrub Carolina team.

Tonight is the night to stiff arm the Blues into oblivion, just subdue their will for the road games. Like Sun Tzu once said, "if you know the enemy and know yourself you need not fear the results of a hundred battles." Tonight we F*CKING BATTLE.

Chara with one of the worst games I can remember, team looked like a deer in the headlights at times. On the bright side, we also had our chances to win this one so eh get them in St. Louis.

This thread sucks. I didn't watch the game after I had to step away from sports after Liverpool's european DOMINATION (for health issues, man I'm getting old), but yeah, 7-2 and by the looks of it it was never close. Love the Bruins, I hope we CHIP like that beautiful squad in Madrid.

YES this thread sucks!! WTF That was an absolute ass kicking last night in St Louis no less. The B's wisely not reacting to the Blues thuggery has been brilliant. But I hope some one on the B's runs their goalie by the end of this series and Chara turns somebody into a punching bag.

I don’t want to jump ahead, but the Bs need to keep Johansson to pair with Coyle. Those 2 are really good together. Also, Coyle is a much better 2 way center than I realized. The goal he scored started with him in defensive zone. He plays great D, is big strong and fast and Skilled. It’s weird because he has all the aspects of a top 6 forward and maybe he’s a decent 2nd center, but in reality he is a Great third line center and him with Johansson on that line is crazy good depth.
This team has the perfect storm on the 3rd line, but I hope they don’t make the same mistake as last time around and over-pay their 4th liners. Kuraly is the one they can pay decently to stay but the line should be reserved for young guys coming up and giving energy and working their way in.
Krug has turned himself into a solid defender and not just a power play specialist.
I still don’t get Heinen... what’s he bring? I guess it’s just mistake free hockey both ways just doesn’t make anything happen but doesn’t hurt you... i suppose that has value but he’s boring...

Was watching the Sox and listening to the Bs - spectacular victory. They know easily all that they need to do to take the cup - it is all about keeping the energy and discipline up (and avoiding serious key injuries). Polish the cup and get it ready to pass on to our team!

Johansson likely is making himself too expensive to keep but, otherwise, I agree.

Keeping Johansson and Coyle would be nice but Carlo and McAvoy are the priorities. Both are restricted FA but could be signed LT to sew them up.
Krug is playing himself into being a LT Bruin also, IMO.
2 down 2 to go!

It’s why there are so many bad contracts out there.

If accurate, 4.7 for Johansson should be doable and a worthwhile expenditure.

I'm convincing myself of 2 things:
1. He'll get more than that 2. Boston will shy away as they'd rather spend on keeping McAvoy/Carlo and getting a 2nd line winger.
Wouldn't surprise me to see Frederic or Studnicka take over 3rd line C with Coyle sliding over (or up to 2nd line winger though I think they could do better).

re: Johansson and Coyle, I was skeptical the Bruins had done enough at the deadline. But man, have I been impressed with both of them. I'm very happy to be wrong.
Which is why I'm so happy so often.

Bruins seem a step slow and too unfocused and sloppy...maybe it is more St Louis home energy.

Oh well, all even. Blues on fire all night, Bruins brought nothing to the 3rd period.

Oh well, all even. Blues on fire all night, Bruins brought nothing to the 3rd period. That's kind of the killer. It's one thing to see St.Louis come out in desperation mode, with the home crowd and have more fire. But to be outplayed like that for 2 periods, escape them with a 2-2 tie and then let that team out hustle and effort you again in the 3rd is shocking and very disappointing.

Yeah tonight sucked, just never matched the intensity the Blues displayed. Vince Dunn being back and looking fit is bad news for us, it gives them a whole new dimension. Still, it's somewhat fair to say we got the job done in game 3. Hopefully game 5 will be a bit more intense.

The B's looked lethargic and like a team that was sick of being out hit, they were shying away from contact. How many times did Pasternak get crunched and how many times did he avoid contact as the game went on? They need the extra day off and also need to get the energy back to the game 3 level. Series shouldn't but will likely go 7 as the physicality takes its toll.
Sit Backes and put Kuhlman in, I like Backes but he has been a nonfactor and looks slow. Kuhlman plays with energy and the B's could use an infusion of that right about now.
Time for Rask to stand on his head, he kept them in it last night for sure though. Dare I say he needs to be better? It seems like the only goals are redirects for the most part that are almost impossible to stop. That first goal made for a terrible start, flat footed.
Game 5 is huge, could be the series decider as neither team wants to be in that position, needing the last 2. I think we need another Krug type hit to get the mojo back and I am going to predict it will be Kuhlman who delivers it.

It’s why there are so many bad contracts out there. That was a pleasant surprise for me as I thought Coyle was a FA, he has played great and could be a great LT fit with the Boston roots. Would love to keep Johansson but you can't under estimate those RFA deals that McAvoy and Carlo have earned. Pastrnak is a good deal but he is 6.6 per and he got that as RFA, as did Krug at over 5 per. McAvoy and Carlo won't be cheap and they are priorities LT. Hope they can slip Johansson in there but it will be tough. It would be nice if they could get some relief from Backes but they can't unless they package him with a good prospect to a team willing to pay.
