I wonder if Brandon Workman will get any at-bats in this World Series.

Also think there's more of a chance Swihart gets in in an NL game, since the pinch hitters may be used on the pitchers rather than catchers. Still possible he's again kept in reserve, which I'm also fine with.

We didn't need to win tonight but, it's big because Sale gets 4 days rest instead of 2. Absolutely huge. Sale-Kershaw might be the best matchup (in terms of their career performances) of the century to start a WS. Provided Kershaw starts, that is. As for how it plays out...I’d love to see a vintage 1-0 duel go the Sox’s way.

Who’s polishing off the most beers on the team flight back to Boston? Wade Boggs.

This is such a likeable team. I can't even describe how happy I am about this season and these playoffs so far.

Who’s polishing off the most beers on the team flight back to Boston? I kinda feel like this entire team will consume about as much as Jonny Gomes did personally at the same point in 2013.

The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

Best underdog team in the history of sports! I mean, they STUNT superior teams (While having a better offense and a better record but don't let those details fool you) in their own turf again and again. Not a good day for Massarotti, CHB and the national analysts lmao

Can you imagine if Price is a strength for the rest of the playoffs? They're saying he felt something click mechanically when he was in the bullpen.

JBJ has been my favorite player in this system since well before he made it to Boston.
I am ecstatic he's MVP! Ecstatic!
My son who keeps saying he wished they'd traded him for a reliever is going to hear about this over and over and over again!!!!!!!!!

Who’s polishing off the most beers on the team flight back to Boston? Kelly just seems like he’d be the most fun guy on the roster at a party. It’s the Ricky Vaugh California Penal League glasses.

2004 saw the miracle of the Roberts stolen base and all that followed 2007 just bashed and bashed 2013 came out of nowhere - the Marathon Bomb, Boston Strong, Big Papi and Gomes and Victorino - a wild mix of veterans and youth.
2018 has been end to end incredible - all of that youth we saw coming through the pipeline - Mookie, Xander, Benny, Raffi and more arrived, some key additions, with a rookie manager that pushed the right buttons all year (and continues to do so) - so, so likeable, fun to watch, a breath of fresh air type of team.
I've loved all of the seasons above, but none more than this season - and we have four wins to grab yet!
Spending it here kibitzing with you all made it even more fun.

And now we get Chris Sale with about 8 days of rest for game 1. All is right in the world.

Well, that answered my question from yesterday. Does Dmainah still wanna trade him for José Reyes and a case of Big League Chew?

I'm not sure that Swihart will be more useful in the WS than he has been so far.

I can't even describe how amazing the amount of rest they get now is going to help them.

It’s a little different for me. Each of those years is a totally different thing to me. As I was just sitting here thinking about it, I came to the realization that each one is comparable to my children. I don’t love one more than another but each means so much to me because of what they are as an individual. I wouldn’t have believed I would think that in November 2004, but that’s exactly how it is for me.
