Just looking at the LB, like your starters would be Collins, Bentley, Hightower, and Van Noy right? Sub packages you bring in Winovich, Calhoun or a Rivers if he makes it, plus maybe an extra safety or CB. Outside of maybe a goal line package, is there another package where you would use Roberts? I'd rather keep Rivers, because you can always slide Van Noy or Collins inside. Plus what is the real difference between Roberts and Munson? They are both limited inside LBs that are thumbers. Add a guy like Sam who could also easily end up on the practice squad along with Munson and you have great depth. You likely won't get either Calhoun or Rivers to the practice squad. Heck you might not get Harris to the practice squad this year given the value teams place on pass rushers. In a perfect world I'd love to keep Roberts, but I'd cut him over a bunch of other guys. He's just easier to replace and really is just Bentley insurance no?

Yea, I’d agree with that, Roberts is depth, but supposedly he’s gotten a lot better in coverage especially in play action so he’s really good depth behind Hightower and Bentley who both have injury questions so I get why you’d keep him. Also, Hightower can slide outside so in a way he’s really good depth everywhere and I can see situations against certain teams where Roberts is in on running situations over someone like Collins.

It was cocaine possession... seems like they had probable cause to enter his house for something else and found it then the investigation led elsewhere.... from Chungs side of it, just sounds like he had some coke - at this point it doesn’t seem that bad. He wasn’t arrested.

Also there are reports out of Washington that the Redskins turned down a first rd pick in 2020 for Williams from the Patriots.... i don’t buy it but it’s out there

He wasn’t arrested. Kyed said Rico Gathers is missing 1 game this season for a drug charge that happened LAST August. Any suspension may not come until 2020 anyway (if that pattern holds).

Well, that's probably it for Patrick Chung for the rest of his football career. What a idiot.

Mixed bag tonight, not particularly surprising for game 3. Little disappointed in Stidham (a stalled drive) and of course another FG missed but Tom looked good and the D was alert and solid.
As long as Chung doesn't have a more serious charge coming, I expect he can survive this with a brief suspension. I didn't know that if an alarm goes off cops can enter a home and begin looking around (for stuff).

Meyers was disappointing tonight for me.
Also, I really like Gunner as a returner... i don’t know what Berrios deal was. Must be injured, but Gunner is explosive.

By the way, my guess is Brandon King is likely our for the year... it opens a roster spot that doesn’t take a player away who would play defense. I’m hoping they don’t use it on another special teams player (unless it’s Gunner as a returner... kidding sorta) and can fill his role there from within.
As much as I’m not a fan of keeping special teams guys when you have this much talent you’ll lose I do feel bad for this kid. He’s a great story. Didn’t play a lot at Auburn, went undrafted, made the practice squad and turned himself into a valuable special teams player. I’m glad he got a good contract before this injury. Hopefully, it’s not as bad as I think and if it is he can fully recover.

So it would seem any talk of Dorset not making the roster should be over. Brady clearly values guys he knows.
Unless there is more to the story, what Chung did will have little effect on us or his career. Some people just want to kick the Patriots! Like Chief's reporters comparing it to their guys who beat women. A little bit of Cocaine just isn't the same as beating women.

It's like the total outrage over Sean Spicer being on Dancing with the Stars, while there are just crickets for Ray Lewis being on there.

Dude, that was a joke. And it was downplayed in the media for a month before this. I know it was a joke, that's why I laughed. I'm not always against you Jim. I think you're a good poster my dude. No biggie. Still a shocker. Tom Brady outlasted Andrew Luck, the supposed QB of the future.
