Pats cap space is just over 10k.... they’ll get more when they release Gordon but not a ton.

Who’s worried about him going to good teams? You can’t release a guy with an injury so the team had no choice - it just works out that the soonest they can’t release him at this point is after the deadline. My hope is this is a good sign for Harry. If Harry comes back then they needed to move on from a receiver. It was either Gordon or Gunner. If they released Bennett, I would be pissed. You can certainly release a guy that is injured. They even have a special tag for it and it usually involves an injury settlement. Yet you almost never see a case like this, where the guy is almost healthy. Where are you getting they can't release a player while injured? You almost never see it happen during the regular season for a ton of reasons, yet it happens on cutdown day all the time. The reason you wait are because after the deadline instead of being a free agent, he has to pass through waivers. So he likely gets claimed by a crappy team. Who's worried? The Patriots and Bill. If you gave Gordon the choice of his release, while giving up money free to sign with any team versus going on waivers I think it's easy to guess what one he would pick. So this whole IR thing seems designed so he has to pass through waivers over him being free to sign with any team. Correct you can reach an injury settlement with a player but you can’t just “release an injured player”. Injury settlements are negotiated for how many weeks it should take for the player to get healthy. It takes time to complete and it’s not time they had while completing the trade so they placed him on IR.

Pats cap space is just over 10k.... they’ll get more when they release Gordon but not a ton. Thought I read it was about 1M. Further, they can release another player (Tomlinson) when they activate Harry (who is already counting for his full amount on the Cap). I'm guessing the same would apply if/when they activate Wynn (and cut another non-guaranteed guy). All/most of this has been confirmed by @patscap

Bennett to Dallas for 7th rd pick... don’t like moving on from him at all but I am glad they traded and didn’t release him.

Good to see Bennett get moved. I'm assuming it means cap relief, but just as important... NE rids itself of a public malcontent.

Bold prediction of the day. Sanu will catch, rush and throw in this game. Why? Because Bill likes showing he is smarter than everyone else and he thinks he can pull it off in 1 wk. It is a Patriot like move.

It is a Patriot like move. Doubt they had time to put in trick plays when they had such a short week. Also, it’s going to be wet and windy not ideal throwing conditions but you did say bold!

You are correct, it is going to be coming down in buckets for a good part of this game. It will make for an interesting game. Does 2 out of 3 count?

Pats defense has 22 takeaways and has given up 3 offensive TDs this season. At this point their are too many crazy lopsided stats to even list. Of those 3 TDs 1 was on a ball that was actually tipped by the DB. 1 was a rush that the rb stuck the ball out and made it over by about an inch then fumbled. 1 was an unlikely long run after missed tackles and guys standing around. All were inches from not happening. How about 1.7 third down conversions per game , LOL

We will see - will have to make a lot of cap room for a bunch of the guys talked about. Howard would be ideal but that seems very unlikely.

it is absolutely comical how many stupid mistakes opponents make against the Pats. These teams should just stop showing up. I know they are great, but the performances are rank amateur like.

Why did the Pats take Michel instead of Chubb in the 2018 draft?

Why did the Pats take Michel instead of Chubb in the 2018 draft? Michel hasn’t been great this year, but no RB would be effective with this O-line.

The way things have been going for the Pats I thought that was going to bounce off the helmet interception.

And he would still be ineffective with this O-line. Michel had literally the best postseason ever by a rookie running back last year. I think people are being too hard on him this year.
