That's what I've expected for the last 8 weeks or so. He's not finished. He's hurt.

Either scenario isn't good. Elbow and Tommy John for a soon to be 43 year old next year. The Pats are looking like they won't even make it past the conference round. I have no doubt Tannehill will be passing the ball to Gilmore and other Pats DB's in the wild card game.

One notable difference is the Amoeba defense cover 0 has been non existent for a while now. They dominated with that; in trying to figure out why and I’m curious if it has anything to do with Jason McCourty and Jonathan Jones being injured. JC Jackson has some great stats but the scouting and eye test doesn’t match up with them; he’s a downgrade over McCourty and Jones being hurt is a huge loss. I have to check in their status... anyone know?

www.patriots.com/team/injury-report/Both limited practice with groin injuries. No Tom Brady listed, so if he's truly injured they are breaking the rules. It could just be age finally catching up with him. Why doesn't JC Jackson pass the eye test? He's a playmaker that for the second year in a row has one of the lowest QB ratings on passes his way. His size and speed combo make it much harder for QBs to challenge him. He's not great in run support, but he passes the eye test for me in coverage. He has a chance to be special in a few years. I like Jones, but the minute we started playing good teams and he was matched up with good players he kept giving up huge plays. Three long TDs in two games. He's great in run support, but I'd much rather have Jackson defending against guys on deep routes. It was amazing watching him get destroyed on back to back plays versus the Texans. They were obviously picking on him. The issue isn't really who's better, it's that when those guys are out, you get other guys than Jackson playing. Against the Bills we saw a ton of our rookie CB for the first time. They stopped playing that early D because teams started to run on us. I'm not worried though, in the playoffs Bill comes up with crazy different game plans and I fully expect our D to play well. It's like they got cocky and they needed that Dolphin game to wake them up. If you can get out in front and force the other team to throw our D will be just fine.

Not breaking the rules on injury reporting unless Brady misses time in practice because of it. If he does treatment or bike or something instead of drills. Hence the Limited designation.

Ron Rivera has removed ping pong tables from the Redskins locker room. This is the New Coach equivalent of Best Shape of His Life; the new guy either loosens the reigns from the former too-tough tough guy or finally instills discipline for the talented but unfocused team. But whichever he does, it's gonna turn the team around.

Just how much brighter will depend as always on how the QB position progresses or doesn't. Their D should be improved with DelRio and their recent top picks but that isn't too high a bar to beat. They do have a lot of holes to fill but the new staff might be able to coach some guys up.

I have switched gears a bit on the Pats this weekend. I am going to look at Miami as a team that was playing better and had a great game, Fitzpatrick has a history of being very good at times and he was in this game. While Tom definitely had a bad game, just like the teams, one had a very good game the other not so much, it happens.
Instead I'm going to focus more on the Buffalo game where the Pats played much better against a better team. Go Pats!!

That isn't true, you have to report all injuries, even if the player doesn't miss any practices and is fully expected to play in the next game. You just list that he didn't miss any practices, teams rarely do that, but that is what the rules state. If Brady goes and has surgery on his shoulder and makes a comment that it happened in game 5 and was an issue all year, the Patriots can and likely will be fined. It was a big story a few years ago when Brady's wife said he was injured and it was never on the injury report.

I'd post it, but it's a PDF file not a webpage. Just go use Google or Yahoo and look up the NFL injury report rules. They are very clear. Any injury that effects performance has to be listed and that's most injuries. They by rule need to be listed till the injury isn't an issue anymore. So what is an injury is very clear, teams just break the rules all the time. The Lions just got fined this year for doing it. If Brady is injured, they are breaking the rules. I get why they are doing it, you don't want teams targeting him. At the same time we'll be the one team that the NFL comes down crazy hard on.

The Pats should win this game, even if Tom Brady's arm is falling off. This might be it though.

Omg neither the Bills or Texans deserve to win! Bills go for 4th and 27 over a 59 yard field goal with a very good kicker. Then Texans go for it on 4th down rather than kick like a 45 yard FG.

That blind side block personal foul on the Bills when they were about to win the game is the most ridiculous call I've ever seen.

I'd be so mad if I were a Bills fan. They won that.

Ahhh there's the Bill's choke. Knew that was coming. So now the Patriots "road to the superbowl" gets harder. Watson, Mahomes, Jackson. Pick your poison.

Good but not great opening drive. Brady has already made 3 bad throws in this game. Ouch.

Henry is running it right down the Pats throats. So much for that 40 point blowout coming.

Embarrassing opening drive for the defense. Can do nothing to stop the run. Then do that on third down to give up the TD.

Great job Brooks, wasn't that why we drafted Williams to cover big TEs?
