Great drive by the offense. They're substituting and bringing in everyone early. White. Burkehead. Michel. They're doing all the work so far here.

Defense with 2 straight series stops. Finally figured out Henry a bit too.

Michel is a absolute garbage RB in short yard situations. That should be 7 points, keeping them in this game.

Finally figured out Henry a bit too. Yeah, nevermind. Back to Henry just doing whatever he wants.

Henry will have 200+ total yards easy in this game. The Titans get the ball back after halftime with this inevitable TD.
Great way to push momentum the other way after not getting a TD on offense.

That's about as bad as it gets as far as the first half goes. The last 5 minutes of the half was a joke.
Add- We're lucky Logan Ryan didn't drop a easy pick 6 and be down by 8 points.

Lol why throw the ball if you're Tennessee? New England can't stop you on the ground.

Absolutely pathetic drive by the offense. Harry dropping passes. Brady still missing throws. Penalties. The Pats are at home.
Worst punt of the year by Bailey too it seems.

That couple of plays could be the difference in this game.

Harry has been a complete dud in this game.

I have no doubt Tannehill will be passing the ball to Gilmore and other Pats DB's in the wild card game. This part came true. Too bad our offense is a complete disaster.

Pats just letting them run. Run as much you'd like Tennesee. No worries.

I feel like Tennessee just wasted 5 mins of our lives for no reason whatsoever there.

Tom Brady's last drive possibly. Let's see if he has one more left in him.

So can we call out absolutely horrid homerish takes like this or do we just call out someone who isn't a complete homer on this board?

It's funny to see WEEI.com label the loss as "stunning". What's so stunning about it? If you watched the past 8 games prior to this where they actually played real teams on the schedule instead of cupcakes, they struggled to go 4-4 and even managed to lose a game at home to lowly Miami.
The game was at best a tossup. I thought they might have one more win in them and then get shredded in KC, but I don't think a scenario where they lose to Tennessee at home was all that hard to believe.
I mean all of their problems reared their ugly head tonight. Let's see. They suck in the red zone. That played out tonight. Their inability to turn 1st and goal from the 1 into 7 points was a killer, so that made them 1-3 in the red zone. Conversely, when Tennessee was 3rd and 10 or whatever long yardage it was, they turned that into 7 points.
Then there is the terrible receiving corps. Only Edelman has been reliable, yet his 4th quarter drop on what would have been an easy first down was an absolute killer.
The fact of the matter was the Tom Brady had very little in the way of reliable options to throw to this year. Antonio Brown absolutely killed them by being such a failure as a human being that he had to get released and Gordon was what he has been all of his career unfortunately, but not as good a player. The disappointment of those guys really messed up their receiving options and all that was left was a bunch of mediocrity and Edelman unfortunately, and Harry and Sanu never really picked up the slack.
Then there were the costly mistakes between the ill-timed Mason penalty and the terrible wide receiver drops.
And it's not like they had a good running game this year, nor did they really have a reliable FG kicker with Gostkowski's injury where you felt if they needed a FG to win, they'd win.
And the defense failed to make the big stops it absolutely had to make. In the end if the defense wasn't historic, and was merely only good or average, the team couldn't win. The defense had to be epic to win.
It's sad because it feels like the end of an era. Brady wasn't as pinpoint on his throws as he has been in the past, but a lot of that was on his supporting cast, the lack of an effective offensive line for a lot of the season, where he was constantly under siege, and it seemed like he hardly ever had any open receivers and when they were, they were dropping the damn ball. I've never seen him throw away so many balls on purpose like he was doing, but he didn't feel like he had much choice.
I could be wrong, but I get the sense that Belichick isn't going to go all out to keep him and Brady will wind up elsewhere next season. I'd prefer they keep Brady and fix what ails them, but I don't think that's what's going to happen, and that makes me sad. I truly don't think Brady should ever put on another uniform in his career other than the Patriots, but I think that's what ultimately happens. I know they like the young kid they drafted this season, but if he's their QB next season, something went terribly wrong.

What also sucks about this is that there is now a huge lull between now and the start of spring training or exhibition season (I had almost gotten used to being excited about football in February and only having a two week lull if that long), plus honestly I don't think the 2020 Sox are going to be very good as they look to shed salary, so the excitement I have where you dream of winning is kind of not there. The Pats look like their on the downward slide and the Sox look about the same as the Pats - on the way down. It's been a wonderful ride the past two decades, but that time looks like it's going to recede into the past. Knew it couldn't last forever and am thankful it happened at all, but the short-term present doesn't look too promising.
When we're in a situation where they best we can hope for is that they get a back end pitching prospect like Gonsolin along with Verdugo for dumping Price AND Betts, that doesn't exactly inspire excitement.
Sad to think that soon the Patriots could be without Brady and the Red Sox could be without Betts.

What's stunning to me is they punted it on 4th down with like 3 minutes left. I'd rather get the loss in Brady's hands then what happened.
You can't blame the D, they only gave up 14 points.
