If Brady hits FA he'll automatically carry a $13.5m cap charge next season. If Brady re-signs before the league year starts he'll carry a $6.75m dead cap hit next year, with the remaining balance pushed into 2021. Either way, his current/expiring deal will have the $13.5m charge hit the cap.

Brady has dead cap hits the next two years if he leaves. They wouldn’t be able to reinvest all of that money into this team. Only about half of it which doesn’t make much sense to me. How is that possible when his contract is over? Over the cap site says 13.5 m next year and 6.75 m the next in dead money. Spotrac has just next year at 13.5m. You would think the contract is over but this how they spread out the AAV for cap purposes. All kinds of loopholes I don't know about.

They can extend him at any point, but even if they extend him tomorrow they'll have the $6.75m dead money charge next year, and another charge in 2021. The dead money is going to hit their cap no matter what they do, it's just whether they'll absorb it all next year or spread it out.

If thats the case, if Brady leaves, might as well make 2020 a true rebuild year. Especially with our brutal schedule.
Go out and get Teddy Bridgewater, draft another QB. Then go out and get Kittle or something in 2021.

Can we get a cap credit if we win the case against Brown? They didn't pay him, yet his money stayed on our cap last year.

After watching Tenn and Henry against the Pats last weekend, this game doesn't surprise me.

I feel good about Mike Vrabel. He was a great Patriot and always a good guy. A SB win for him would be the next best thing to a Pats SB win.
If BB thinks that Brady still has it, then they have to do whatever they can to get him weapons. Supposedly, this is a really good draft for WR types. Draft half a dozen and see what sticks. A good TE, too. It has to be an offense draft. Load up for Brady.

It looks like Josh will be staying with the Pats which has to be considered good news.
I remember players saying Vrabel went a whole season without being caught out of position or doing the wrong job in Pats lingo. Smart player, great coach, I will be rooting for Tenn.

What a strange playoffs. 6 seed in the AFC Championship and #4 Texans up 21 points in the 1st quarter against the Chiefs. Who would have thought that the AFC Championship game could be in Houston?

Im pulling for Houston. Bill o’Brien is from Boston and the Titans were a bit obnoxious after they beat us...

I know some where on here I have talked about playing the game. You never know what is going to happen thats why you have to play and this KC vs Houston game is a perfect example.

Apparently Andy Reid pressed pause after the first quarter and changed the difficulty from hard to rookie.

Apparently Andy Reid pressed pause after the first quarter and changed the difficulty from hard to rookie. Mahomes played some god football, but it wouldn't be possible if Bill O'Brien wasn't an absolute IMBECILE. That fake punt was the single most moronic call I remember in my life.

Agree that it was dumb, but they still won by 20 points. I'd criticize him more for not moving to zone after Kelce started destroying them.

Good point about zone, it felt like the Texans never fully recovered from the Chiefs punching back. They had zero answer to anything, seriously if the game had another quarter this would have been a 70 point blowout lol. IF (huge IF here) the Chiefs and 49ers make it, the Super Bowl should be an absolute bloodbath.

I'm picking Clemson tonight. I think most people forget that they've won 29 straight games and 2 of the last 3 championships.
