Drop the puck! prediction 112 points Combination of veterans not regressing from age yet, Rask Marchand Bergy and Kreiji Prime aged guys being solid and improved with Coyle The continued growth of the young guys, which is why my prediction is bold, Pastrnak DeBrusk Kuhlman McAvoy Carlo Heinen are all young which means they have room for growth.

Wow! That's . . . wow! I like the optimism though. Not sure if you noticed but I am always optimistic when it comes to my teams. I have seen it all over the past 45 years of watching, you never know whats going to happen so I stay optimistic and roll with the punches. I really do think we will see the contributions from that group of young guys increase, it is natural. They are all 23 or under. I like Kuhlman and Coyle matters as he could be the best 3rd line center in a while so both the 2nd and third lines have room for growth. Maybe even Backes will be better after working his butt off all summer, good to see him show some pride. We shall see.

Great win on the road, to come from behind down 2 quick goals against a very good team is a good sign. Opening the season with three road wins isn't too shaby.

Did anyone watch the game last night?
Marchand looks better than ever!! His handle is unbelievable.

Still too reliant on that top line. Anders Bjork seems to be having a great start to his season in Providence. May need to call him up and see how he can help (remember, the line of Marchand, Bergeron and Bjork was the talk of camp a couple of years ago).

Yeah the 2nd line has 0 goals in 6 games, not good obviously. Maybe Bjork needs a call up.

Bjork up and skating on a line with Kuraly and Wagner. Krejci to IR (impacts roster count only - not cap)

David Pastrnak is unstoppable so far, even has a goal or 2 taken away for stupid calls. I hate it when a play isn't called offsides as it is within inches and play continues leading to a goal. Then that goal is canceled upon review as the play was 1 or 2 inches offsides.
Kuhlman out with a hairline fractured tibia, hopefully Kreiji isn't out too long and I hate that Bergeron is already banged up.

Bjork back down to Providence. It's likely a cap move (remember, NHL calculates daily) and will be back up in time for St Louis (per Haggs).

Pasta is playing unbelievable. It’s too bad he had an immature moment last year and hurt his thumb - probably cost them a cup. His 2 assists last night were dirty - his goal was too. I think it’s now at 13-14-27 in 13 games

I think it’s now at 13-14-27 in 13 games You are right, never really thought about that. He doesn't injure himself and plays the way he was prior to and so far this year and B's might have won. He got shut out the 1st 2 games so that is actually 27 pts in 11 games, that's Phil Esposito like.

He was 2nd on the team in points and tied with 3 others in goals.
Marchand getting hurt (bc of the intrasquad decision), DeBrusk disappearing act, etc would go a lot higher on the list for me.

He also had a scoring pace at the end of the regular season comparable (even better) to his pre-injury pace.
So even putting it on Pasta incorrectly assumes it was related to that incident/injury.

Can Marchand and Pasta keep this pace up? Bruins on pace for 140 points, lol. They will come down to Earth at some point but this is fun to watch.
Coyle said in an interview that playing so deep into the playoffs meant he was in better shape to start training camp having had less time off. Hmmm, will that catch up with them? We shall see it is a long season, should they tinker with giving guys nights off? I think if they keep winning at close to the pace they are on then resting guys is a luxury they should consider. All that matters is being healthy for the playoffs, home ice is even a debatable question.
