I guess I'm not that worried about adding 2-3 rookies next year but that probably speaks to my confidence in the maturation of GWill, Edwards and RWill (especially in the roles they are likely to be assigned next year) by the time the deadline rolls around. IF we're talking spots 10-15 on the team I'm okay having them filled by Langford, some rookie deals and a minimum contract or 2. Assuming Hayward stays... who are you replacing off the 15 man roster to keep 3 rookies? Keep in mind Taco and Waters aren’t on the 15 man roster... so are you assuming they are gone? You have to subtract 3 guys from the current 15 to add 3 firsts and you need to subtract another for each of Taco and Waters... I like Waters game but can you really roll with him Kemba and Edwards on the same team? That's the hard part for me, replacing Theis, Kanter, Semi, or Wannamaker with three rookies. A couple of Edwards, Langford, or the Williams would really need to step up. I really like Waters. I love his game and he's a great athlete. Yet it is a legit worry with Edwards and Walker. With Brown, Smart and Langford you'd have the size and players to match with them. Yet it would certainly limit you and certainly isn't ideal. I just think he's an NBA player.

In order:
Semi (TO) - will probably be redundant Green (NG) - nice story but probably not getting in the way of someone with more upside Wanamaker (RFA) - Nice player but not sure he'll be worth the price given that, when everyone is healthy, he's probably a 10mpg guy (and guard is strong in this year's draft) Theis (NG) - could be expandable depending on where RWill is at (though 5M is probably worth the value)
I think Kanter (ETO/PO) will likely opt out but would think he's either re-signed or a replacement FA (using an exception) takes his place so I wouldn't count his spot.
Would even think Poirier could be moved/eaten if a more talented player needs the spot.
Just to be clear, though. I'm not advocating for adding 3 rooks. Just suggesting that it's not enough of a concern to worry about.

I hear ya in the young talent but the fact is they’ve far exceeded their net rating and that’s not sustainable.
Jackson is a guy I love but he’s been disappointing to me this year. He’s still super young tho, younger than both Morant and Clarke... I did expect more this year tho. Morant and Clarke will hit rookie walls too.

When was the last time a core of 20/21 year olds became a good basketball team in the NBA. So I am still confident that the C's will be getting a top 10 pick from Memphis either this year or next, preferably next. It would be nice if it is better than that but hey a top 10 for a contending team isn't bad. With all the assets I can see some trades to try and maximize value, in Danny I trust.

Obviously we are all very happy with JB this year but Tatum really is playing a lot better than some of his stats show. To me it means he is going to be a true star. He can't hit a lay up at the moment but that will change and he doesn't get any calls. He could be averaging 5+ points a game more taking the same # of shots as he is right now. The thing is they all buy into playing D and it is really paying off. Emulating guys like PG & KL who excel on both ends is good for both of them. They are going to be great moving forward!!

Absolutely insane effort on defense thus far despite the inability to hit anything outside of the paint. Very encouraging.

Smart can't be the second option in the clutch, but the refs really gifted this one to the Clippers.

I’ve been recording games and watching in morning or middle of night when i wake up but i fell asleep before recording this one. Going to OT in LA on the 4th game of this trip. The 3rd in 4 days and 4th in 6 is impressive. This team has to be gassed.

And of course the refs start calling bullshit fouls. They’re losers, but this is going to keep happening to the Celtics if their coach doesn’t do a better job standing up for his players. It shouldn’t be that way, but that’s the reality.

The Celts missed Hayward last night. He’s probably the one guy in the offense who only takes what’s given to him. On a night when Brown, Walker, and Smart all had abysmal shooting performances, Hayward’s facilitation and efficient game was missed.
Watching George and Leonard should provide an offensive blueprint for Brown and Tatum. Boston played harder and better defense for the entirety of the game. But they also forced shots that were not going in. George and Leonard are so methodical on offense. It’s fun towatch

October Hayward will be such a boon for this team if he can play back at that level. The team has been strong on offense without him but he can really even out those down nights from Tatum/Brown and take over.
I wonder what the team will settle in as for scoring; Brown, Walker Hayward, and Tatum aren't going to each average 20/night, though each independently could. Something like 20 for Hayward, 20 for Tatum, 18 for Kemba with 6 dimes, and 16 for Brown? Too light on Kemba? He's at 22 now, but hasn't had both Brown and Hayward at the same time for most of the season. Maybe my faith in Hayward's ceiling is too high.

Not that 5 games is a meaningful sample size but in the games where they were all healthy:
Walker - 21.2 (89 FGA) Tatum - 20.4 (91 FGA) Brown - 18.8 (67 FGA) Hayward - 15.6 (62 FGA)

It shouldn’t be that way, but that’s the reality. I thought Stevens was on it last night, much more vocal than normal. He used the challenge perfectly, should have been an offensive foul on George. Then gets a technical in overtime. I mean that's what home court is all about, you get extra calls. At home that blocking foul on Walker is an offensive foul, Walker likely gets some calls when he was driving to the basket, etc.

Speaking about Grudges... what happened to Pedrofan? He was banned like two months ago. They put an announcement in a sub-forum. It was kinda weird because he didn't seem to do anything, must have been too much posting. I miss his passion, even if I didn't always agree with him.

The 3rd in 4 days and 4th in 6 is impressive. This team has to be gassed. It was an absolutely incredible game, definitely championship level. Great to be balling at that level. Thinking back on Smart taking too many shots in the clutch, I noticed that Tatum and Brown are far too passive there. Smart shoots those because someone has to. It's undeniable how exciting it is to watch Tatum and Brown continue to develop, but they need to be a little more assertive late in the 4th. Hopefully the team understand the need to give Tatum more opportunities as well.

It was a great game, felt like a playoff game.
Theis has been a big surprise so far. We've seen flashes before, but wow. If he was a knockdown three point shooter he'd be an elite small ball center the way he's currently playing.
They really missed Hayward having to play Grant Williams big minutes including in the 4th and not getting much from him.
Very interesting that when Theis got fouled in the 4th Stevens went to Robert Williams and not Kanter.
They played great team Basketball most of the night till late 4th and then overtime when certain players tried to take over. It's why they had the advantage most of the game while everyone was shooting bad.
I'm not picking on Smart he did some great things in this game. His passing was very good and so was his D most of the night. Yet he kinda went full on Irving in the 4th and OT taking 10 shots, with almost every one of them created by him. What made it even worse was Tatum was on fire and he wasn't getting more shots. I still say less is more with Smart, focus on his D and Passing and take what the D gives him.

Walker and Smart need to do better getting them involved. Towards the end of that game I didn't feel either of them did that. Heck a bunch of series those guys didn't touch the ball.

We know Marcus is a very unselfish player so others taking control wouldn’t be an issue for him .
