Jason Tatum is becoming a much better play maker. 5 more assists last night. He’s had 5 assists or more in 3 of his last 5 games. Last season he had 5 assists or more (6 once) in only 5 games, but most were towards the end of the year. He averaged 3.6 assists per game over the last 13 games last season. Got off to a slow start this year in that area but he’s picked it up lately. His assist percentage on the year is up to 13.4% and over the last 10 Games is averaging 3.4 assists per game.
If he can be at 3.5-4.5 per game, on a team with Walker, Smart and Hayward then he will be doing pretty well.
Jaylen Brown has also improved in this area, but not nearly enough.

Dallas didn't take long to become elite, will it last. And they're doing that with the Porzingod having a somewhat bad season. Doncic is a monster, I think it will last.

And poof, they lose at home to Sacramento.
How about the Nets wo Kyrie winning and beating a good Denver team, once again it will get interesting when he gets back. Dinwiddie playing well and sharing the ball, it could get interesting.

Did they keep it a secret? I wasn't even paying close attention because I thought he'd only return by Christmas or something. Amazing and it's like he didn't even leave, no rust whatsoever. Ben Simmons on suicide alert. Is the season over already? You put Marcus Smart at the center and surround him Kemba, Gordon, Tatum and Brown. Might not chip, but seriously that team is going to be so much fun in the playoffs. Reminds me a lot of the Warriors before they went Evil and Durant ruined the NBA. Maybe even the 7SOL Suns, although there's no Steve Nash equivalent. Just a lot of guys that can score from anywhere at all times.

Kemba goes for 15 in the first quarter, but sure Brad, bench him for 7 minutes to start the second. And then he lets a 6-point lead turn into a 9-point deficit before calling timeout.
He really is an awful in-game coach sometimes.

You cannot get out coached anymore than Stevens did tonight. The Pacers made a single adjustment on each end (quick double on Kemba, high screen and roll on offense) and the supposed genius Brad has zero answers.
Absolutely a putrid in-game coaching performance.

Embarrassing quarter, guys needed to step up to back Kemba. And don't get me started on the defense. Gordon leaving early really messed up the team.

Absolutely a putrid in-game coaching performance. I really don't understand Brad's rotations sometimes, truly dumbfounding. Let's play Tatum and 4 backups to start the 4th! Refs also suck, and we missed Smart/Hayward/Brown at the end. Tough game against a solid team but we need to win those games if we want to end up the 2/3 seed.

Ryan Bernardoni had a pretty good take on this. In short, - If you're forced to do something and it worked . . . - Then you did it 11 more times and it worked in most of those occasion (10 out of 12) - Wouldn't you try a 13th time?

If I were Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, I would just take the season off and hang out together in Hawaii and come back next year with a top 3 pick.

Tatum has been putrid on offense and its affecting the whole team. Acting like he's already an elite offensive player just because they cooked Cleveland's defense.
Brad Stevens continues to be completely incompetent at managing end of game situations. Was outcoached by Brett Brown and has been a below average coach this season.
Can't be said enough how much we miss our captain and floor general, Smart. He's truly this team's glue.

I get the Tatum criticism but this is what we want. We want him to get a little cocky and aggressive. Maybe it’s the coach in me but people over-react. Development is a process. Yes, he’s been bad the last couple nights from a production standpoint. Bigger picture though, it’s been good. You want him getting aggressive. You want him feeling like he’s the man. There was one drive last night where he Bricked a short pull up that was half floater because he rushed it. It was almost like he was surprised how open he had made himself for the release and he “felt” a contest where there wasn’t one. A veteran calmly pulls up from the 7 feet away and knocks it down. The young guy throws a brick at the back of the rim. He had a few like that. He will go back and watch tape and at some point get it. Don’t complain, you want him to take most of these shots.

I completely disagree. The great ones don't shoot their teams out of games. We don't want him cocky, aggressive, and feeling like "the man" when it means he is the only player on the team forcing shots.

Yeah, I probably wouldn't do until the offseason (unless you are really worried that, when healthy, he's too good to keep you at the top of the lottery). There will be more teams involved than at the deadline. As Hollinger recently wrote, there are some reasons why there might not be much action this year.
