Boston just blew a first half lead in 3 mins without Joel Embid playing tonight. What a rut they're in right now.

The Celtics would be losing by 20 if Kemba wasn't on the floor.

Tatum is just an elite defender right now, really impressive stuff. Nice pass and Gordon is struggling so badly he somehow almost missed that layup. Guys are fighting because the game just isn't there.

What a bad game/loss. Statement loss. You can't beat Philly with Embid. You can't beat Philly without Embid.
Meanwhile I know people were mocking me for some reason when they clearly rushed Hayward back too soon. How's that working out now? Not even close to being the same player in the first 8 games of the season.

So disappointing, they can't win a game against a good team. they are pretenders and fakes as you guys have all posted for the last few years.

Whatever they suck and are no where near being competitive

Are we five years old here? We are fairly criticizing the Celtics here. Still rooted for them to win this game FYI.

This was their 5th games in 7 nights, Tatum and Brown have hit obvious walls, Gordon is struggling badly, Kemba missed some time, there's a lot of stuff going on. I know we tend to be a panicky bunch, but this is not the time to question everything.
That being said, Danny BADLY needs to make a move for some bench scoring. Kanter is solid, but they need more now that Wanamaker is down to earth again.

Whatever they suck and are no where near being competitive I’ll actually retract that statement - I think they have a chance to come out of the East IF they can finally get healthy and Hayward can regain form. The Jays will be a little inconsistent but usually one of them will be good any given night. But they really need Hayward to pick it back up to have any real shot. And I agree that Ainge needs to go out and find a bench contributor, whether that be a trade or from the buy-out market. Some of the role players have come back down to earth, so they’re a little thin at the moment.

The rookies off the bench haven't really developed into much of a role either. In spurts they're okay. Grant Williams gives them something sometimes. Edwards hasn't been much of a factor yet. Robert Williams has been out completely. Langford is just starting to get mins.
The Celtics have been relying on guys like Wannamaker and Semi. Semi can't score at all. Wannamaker should be the 15th man off your bench on a good team.
Kanter and Theis have been good, but they do need more.

Yeah and you can't be giving that many minutes to Semi AND Grant, it needs to be one or the other at this point. I know it probably won't happen, but IT would make a lot of sense here. Great shooter, fan favorite, can run the Stevens offense and could even feature in some wonky very small line-ups playing next to Walker.

Yeah we definitely need a bench spark, our bench has been awful and we can't give the starters a break. Also some of y'all are funny straight trashing the team after a small losing streak, boohoo. Its their toughest stretch of the season, these things happen.
There were offensive possessions last night where everyone was standing around and nobody was cutting, everyone just looked straight exhausted.
Targets I like: Bjelica, Bogdan Bogdanovich, Bertans. Basically, guys that can hit 3s.
Semi and Wanamaker have been passable in spurts but really barely or below replacement level.
One thought: package Semi, Poirier, and a pick for something to shore up the bench. Then convert Waters contract for the new roster spot. Waters is the best playmaker they would have off the bench right now. I love IT but I take Waters over him right now, plus Waters at least has good hands on defense. This would add a good playmaker/scorer (Waters) and ideally a big that can shoot, two huge holes right now.
This trade works:
Semi, Poirier, MIL 1st for Bjelica. I would do that instantly if SAC bites since I really believe in this team.

BRobb, admittedly, felt someone could would probably offer a better 1st rounder. Bjelica might be a more realistic target. One thing that I hadn't considered in the previous discussion about the Memphis pick is that Boston could put conditions on it. So, they could say it's the MEM Pick if it's outside the lottery (7-14 since 1-6 wouldn't convey to Boston anyway). Otherwise, it could be one or both of the MIL/BOS picks. Still not sure I give that up for a rental (could Boston move up a couple of picks at the draft to grab someone they really like??). Anyway, the conundrum is that they really have 2 needs. A shooter for the 2nd unit (yeah, Edwards not being as ready to contribute as so many thought has been less than ideal) and a big to guard the bigs of the main competition in the East. I guess if you found the right one (one worthy of starting) you could move Hayward (not a 3 point ace but an upgrade - generally speaking) to "2nd Unit" (which hopefully is no more than 3 players come playoff time). But who is that? Bertans/Bjelica aren't doing anything defensively. RWill, while still young and error-prone, would've helped some if he was healthy enough to be developing over the course of the year. Alas, it sounds like he's not coming back anytime soon.

I have a question for all you guys following the C's and talking about bench help. Considering the C's have had a very busy schedule lately and could use help from the bench, what happened to Romeo? We all liked what we saw when he finally got on the court and now when they need minutes off the bench he isn't even getting off the bench. Yes this is me finally questioning the coach. Give the man some minutes.

Bertans and Bjelica could come in and start, letting Hayward bring scoring from the bench. If we're talking bigger guys, I would also call the Suns and see if they're willing to part with Saric. I know he's not a shooter like the others, but he did shoot well from 3 in his last full season with the 6ers and also during his stint with the Wolves. Good rebounder, solid passer, still young enough. I'm still a fan!

Not even close to being the same player in the first 8 games of the season. What are you talking about? You make it sound like they rushed him back from his broken hand, but his current issues are his foot, which Stevens admits was an issue even in those first 8 games.
