Do we really need a week off? For our walking wounded, yes.

Kyrie out for the rest of the season. Can't help but wonder if injuries kind of played a part in how he handled that terrible last season here, his body seems to be refusing to let him play the game.

Or he’s not playing thru injuries when other people would. Which I’m not saying is a bad move. Contract year last year and then this year is kind of a wait for Durant year.

This is the type of shit that pisses me off. Kemba is out tonight with knee soreness coming off the All-star game? I get he was a starter so I won’t say he shouldn’t have played, he earned the honor but he shouldn’t have played more than 10 minutes. Bad decisions Celtics front office and Kemba himself and a big F U to Nick Nurse who just happens to coach the Raptors for overplaying Kemba and his sore knee in the game. What an absolute joke.

Yeah this is bullshit. Hopefully it isn't anything serious, but this is annoying either way. You could tell in the game that he wasn't perfectly healthy as well, especially late when him jumpshot looked wonky and he was getting outraced by the ball. He should not have played the 4th.

Pesky Wolves team! They're not much to write home about (especially without KAT), but they played free and Beasley is a really good player. Our bench got outscored 26-10 and the gap felt even larger. Danny got complacent, we needed an upgrade. He's obviously incredibly good at his job, it's just that year after year it feels like he doesn't do that "final move". Maybe there isn't one to make and it's unfair to criticize him for that, but it definitely feels that way.

That's what you never know with Danny. He made an offer for Woods, which they rejected. Yet what was it? He talked about not over paying for rentals so I feel is was likely a 2nd round pick. Yet does Edwards get the deal done? The ways he's playing lately he might have been worth the Bucks pick. Maybe you get him liking Boston and winning so he resigns. Maybe he bolts for nothing. Yet he looks like a difference maker, a big that can do it all in today's NBA.

Yeah, sometimes I wish we had a window into negotiations because I agree with both of your points. I would love for Danny to do a tell all/inside look into his Celtics tenure once he retires so we can get some of these answers (like were the Wizards really asking for 2 1sts? What was the price for Wood? Etc)

It’s comical that ESPN continues to trot Mark Jackson in primetime matchups, when he’s one of the worst color commentators out there.

What are the realistic buy-out options for this team? It’s crazy how thin they become when one regular is out of the lineup.
Wannamaker is a liability out there, but Brad insists on using him.

Tatum is becoming a super star if he isn't already.

Tatum is becoming a super star if he isn't already. Kemba’s been as good as advertised and Jaylen took a big step forward...but Tatum’s already the Celtics’ best player. Tremendous growth.

It's kinda hard to do mass substitutions when we are short handed. I might stager my substitutions a little more.

Aside from Theis and Tatum, everyone on the roster has been brutal today. They desperately need to add a veteran to their bench.

Is Brad awake? Put Tatum back in!
I’m classic Stevens fashion, he watches a 5-point lead turn into a 3-point deficit while resting his best player inexplicably long.

Refs with a couple really bad calls. Hayward playing poorly

Ridiculously horrible officiating. Even worse than what wcp3 thinks.
And then it gets so much worse.

How does the NBA allow this to happen?

How does the NBA allow this to happen? Because they’re the Lakers, playing at home and have the league’s most transcendent star since Jordan. No one cares outside of the Boston market. Five years from now Tatum and Brown will get calls like those

It was a good loss, in that I feel better about the team after this game than I did before.

NBA officiating is always pretty bad, but as one who hates conspiracy theorizing, this felt more like a crew desperate to give a game to the Lakers than anything.
Ball clearly off Davis? Let's give it to the Lakers anyway. KCP pushed Tatum out of bounds? Let's ignore that. Let's call a final minute Technical Foul on nothing to try to give LA an extra point. Tatum has a chance at the winning shot? Let's call an offensive foul that we would never call in another situation.
Freaking rdiciulous.
