I’m not sure if I feel good about the Sixers turnovers or should be worried that we aren’t stomping them.

How long are you going to leave Tatum on the bench?

They had sooo many chances to blow this lead open and just refused to do it. Pathetic execution this quarter.

You cannot choke anymore than the Celtics are right now against a depleted team that isn’t good.
They just lack any semblance of a killer instinct.

Well that's what Grant Williams needs to do.

Jaylen Brown learning how to hit free throws is extremely underrated in his progression.

Sixers had a 23-8 bench scoring advantage and still loss by eight. Nice win.

Hayward left the arena on crutches in an air cast. Which probably means the Celtics’ title hopes are over.
It was going to be tough enough to win a title with an eight man rotation. Now with a six man rotation? Next to impossible.

Meanwhile, what a GREAT game between the Mavs and Clippers. umass your boy Luka Doncic could be the best player in the league as soon as next season.

Let's wait for the MRI, grade one is 1-3 weeks recovery time, grade two 3-6, grade three several months.

I don't see it, maybe best offensive player. He sucks on D, just watched the end of the Clippers game. Same stuff you always see. He's got a long way to go at that end.

I feel like one of the most important things we take for granted is how much Tatum and Brown like each other and support one another. Tatum gets basically all the credit as being the young star on the rise but Jaylen is right with him and JT dies everything possible to make sure people know about that. It would be terrible to draft and develop 2 stars and have them not want to play with each other...
“I can’t stress enough how important JB is and how special he is and how special we need him to be on a nightly basis,” Tatum said. “He’s definitely capable and we know we just have to play off each other. We do different things out there so we’re just playing to our strengths and being aggressive in the offense.”

Don what's the difference between guys like Trout and Betts versus Martinez? It's defense vs no/negative D. Martinez could easily be the best hitter in a given year, heck maybe even the MVP. Yet he'll never truly be the best player When you look at guys like Giannis and Tatum then Doncic it's comical how good they are on D and how bad Doncic is. Those guy could win scoring titles and defensive player of the year in the same year, heck Giannis might do that this year. Poraingod lol was minus 6 in box score when he was ejected, Doncic was minus 14. So that's a huge assumption on your part. I take it you watched the last six minutes of that game? Seriously you didn't have major issues with his D? He's so bad he doesn't even try half the time because he doesn't want to get fouls. Even in the 4th quarter of a close playoff game. Guys blowing by him for layups, him not closing out on shooters.

I do enjoy this back and forth so I tease you a lot, but real talk here his defense is a concern. I don't think it's that much of a concern and a lot of it can be attributed to lack of experience, but it could keep him from being the unanimous best player in the league. Having said that, every "best player" in the league has some questions. Giannis can't shoot, Embiid doesn't have the physical conditioning to bang in the paint as much as he should, Lebron hasn't played defense in years, Kawhi gets injured a lot, so does Anthony Davis. James Harden was treated as a defense liability as much as Luka is for years, and now he's at least decent. I think he'll improve out there for sure, he's a bit slow to ever be elite. However, he has "taking over games" thing we catch glimpses with Tatum and he does it more often. I was really impressed last night, 42 against Kawhi and Paul George? I'm a huge fan, he's the promised Euro we've been waiting for.

He's a great offensive player and very fun to watch on offense. I'm just a big believer in defense wins Championship's. I wouldn't trade a two way guy like Tatum for Doncic. Heck I might have a hard time trading Brown for him. Yeah I think he can get a little better, he can't get much worse. Yet he's not a Harden or Pierce were they just had to apply themselves. He has limitations those guys didn't have. Like Giannis not being a great shooter doesn't stop him from posting over 29 points, 13 rebounds, 5 Assists and a block/steal a game.
Defense is 50% of the game. If he wants to be in the top five for me, he needs to work crazy hard on his D. Then again can he play that way on offense and give that type of effort on D? He looked tired in the 4th quarter of that game. You see it with Embiid and LeBron they save engery for offense. Yet with the game on the line they can step up. They can dominate for the 4th quarter on both ends.
Yet that's why guys like Giannis and Tatum are so special. They can dominate at both ends for a whole game. Leonard can do that also. The list is kinda short on guys like that though and Brown is knocking on that Door. To think I laughed at those Leonard comparisons years ago.
