Unbelievable coaching by Stevens in a critical moment. The blitz on Milton followed by the doubling on Embiid resulted in three straight turnovers. Not to take anything away from Brad, it was downright genius. But the Sixers overplayed their hand once Theis fouled out and got lazy with their setup. Easy to commit to a plan when you know your adversary won't surprise you.

Easy to commit to a plan when you know your adversary won't surprise you. True. However, the blitz on Milton tells me that they were saving some tricks for an opportune time. I thought Philly was lulled to sleep with one on one defense for 46.5 minutes until Boston started trapping and creating turnovers and transition points when it mattered most. But, it also helps that Shake Milton and Joel Embiid were the victims. Not exactly Chris Paul and LeBron James in terms of floor vision and awareness.

Tatums passing is really improving. If he’s not averaging 4+ assists per game next year, I’ll be disappointed.

The officials have been so blatantly biased the past two games you almost have to respect it.

The officials have been so blatantly biased the past two games you almost have to respect it. Its absolutely ridiculous, and a joke to watch too. Trying their hardest to give the Sixers a free win. Richardson just shoulder charges Kanter, foul. I guess the NBA is trying to milk the bubble because all East matchups are pretty much blowouts. They literally took 19 free throw attempts to the Celtics 18 shots in the first quarter. That's, uh, something. Definitely not biased.

Embiid sets a questionable screen, then gets two free throws on a clear charge. There needs to be a massive overhaul of officials but it will never happen.

Whatever happened to Tobias Harris does not look good

Doris "(Embiid) is frustrated. He could have had some of these and ones." Had she watched any of this series?

Doris "(Embiid) is frustrated. He could have had some of these and ones." Had she watched any of this series? She was correct, but Embiid has gotten more than this fair share of whistles this series. Maybe one of these years, he’ll actually be in shape to play at a high level down the stretch of games.

Told you all. Luka is the promised Euro.
Holy nuts. That's one of the best shot I've ever seen. Everything about it was just perfect. Luka is a legend. He could retire right now and he'd go down as one of the greatest to ever play the sport.

Anyway, crazy sports day with the Cs, the UCL Final and then the Luka coronation game. About our game, I know there's still plenty of stuff to be cleaned up for the upcoming series against the Raptors, but I really liked the defensive intensity on display and I think we have the perfect tools to guard the Raps. Should be a great one!

Who was the poster who kept/keeps insisting Luka isn't that good because he doesn't have enough athleticism? Dude is the present and the future. Only 21...ridiculous.

Dude is the present and the future. Only 21...ridiculous. When did I say he wasn't that good? I've never once said he would suck. Like I've said since the beginning he's not a two way player. He sucks on D, like he literally might be the worst defensive player in the playoffs, while also maybe being the best offensive player. I watched the first half of that game and it was the same crap I've always seen from him. He acts like Melo on D, doesn't even try, saving his energy for his offense. I'm not surprised by your reactions, the whole world did the same thing with Melo for years. Yet I do find it funny because our whole team is based on D. I would think Celtics fans would value D, not just totally overlook it. I'm a big believer in D wins Championship's, not just trying to outscore the other team. We've seen that many times before and it has never once worked.

You know they are just messing with you right? A little bit yeah, but I also believe they really think he's the best player in the NBA also.

Also, let’s be careful comparing his overall game to Melo. Luca just averaged more points than Melo ever did in his career (albeit barely but he’s also 20), he just averaged more assists by over double than Melo ever did and more rebounds by over a full board a game than Melo ever did. Oh and his eFG% was higher than Melos ever was. So one season and he beat all of Melos career highs in any single season. And if we eliminate the last 3 years I’d Melos career where he’s been a shell he did so in fewer minutes than Melo ever played.
So basically Luca at 20 is in a different stratosphere than Melo ever was on offense. The scary thing is Luca will likely get more efficient as he gets older.
His defense is weak, let’s see what Dallas does build that team around him and how he develops in that area. He’s never going to be a great one on one defender, especially on the perimeter.

Yeah he's not Melo, he actually makes his teammates better on offense. It's just the best comp that comes to mind with an elite scorer being so bad on defense. The way Melo put all his energy into offense. It's really something you don't see that often. Maybe Steve Nash would be a better comp, yet I can't remember much about his D. Just that it wasn't good.

You know they are just messing with you right? A little bit yeah, but I also believe they really think he's the best player in the NBA also. I'm messing with you umass However, Luka is really impressive. To take down a title contender without the second best player on your team and to do it with 43 points, 17 rebounds and 13 assists AND hitting that absolutely insane final shot. Going against elite wing defenders by the way. When you consider the context, it's downright unprecedented. There are many questions with Luka, mainly if he can be just average on defense instead of really bad (although I reject the notion he's the worst defender out there right now, come on man lol). Dude IS up there among the best players in the league right now. Let me frame this differently. You're a GM and you can pick any player to start your franchise and run it for the next 7 years. Considering what we know, how many guys do you choose before Luka?
