www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/28985240/aj-hinch-jeff-luhnow-suspensions-fulfilled-2020-even-season-canceledLuhnow and Hinch's suspensions will not toll into next season if the 2020 season is cancelled. Cora's suspension had better be treated in the same manner, although I suspect his suspension will be for more than 1 season. MLB's completed their investigation but based on the current environment it would be a little tone deaf to release it now but that shouldn't negatively impact Cora more than he's going to get whacked anyway. I don’t get why it’d be tone deaf... can’t we do other things? It’s not like they are stopping work on a vaccine to punish Cora.

Such a troubled individual. I hope he gets the counseling he needs and I hope his daughter does as well.

Such a troubled individual. I hope he gets the counseling he needs and I hope his daughter does as well. That is awful. I was recently trying to check in on the Athletic writer and podcaster (and Tim Raines Hall of Fame Getter Inner) Jonah Keri's domestic assault charges, but I found no updates since January. Maybe the early March trial was postponed for COVID reasons? Another turd of a person, based on the charges.

OK, lord knows this is as far up my alley as anyone's here, and this place certainly is in need of some healthy discussion right now, but this really isn't the place for a spirited discourse on the proper punishment for criminal offenders, so let's leave that one alone, please. Thanks.

Joe Kelly has been working on a change-up. It needs work.

One amazing thing about Joe Kelly is how he's always managed to be so frustrating in such a relatable way.

One amazing thing about Joe Kelly is how he's always managed to be so frustrating in such a relatable way. I guess he's more relatable when he pitched his best ball for the Sox when it counted the most. It's like that World Series really wiped away the frustration - not to the point it's not remembered, but it's more of a laugh...and yes, he did have those tantalizingly teasing moments/stretches of effectiveness that made you say - this guy can be dominant, but then.... But it's kind of funny - I know my Dodgers fan friend didn't find him too relatable - and that was before the Kendrick grand slam. You can only imagine how he feels about him now. Oh well, I'll always remember him fondly (funny what a dominating World Series performance can do). His Dodgers might win a World Series soon and perhaps he even plays a positive role in it, but I have a feeling when all is said and done he'll always be remembered (fondly) as a Red Sox guy.

Nah, not really. "Relatable" and "liked him for playing well" are pretty different. Lars Anderson was really relatable, Jonathan Papelbon obviously was not. Kelly always was a good interview with a good sense of humor, even when he wasn't pitching well and when I was tearing into the fact that I think the trade for him was the worst a Red Sox GM has made this century. I dunno, I don't think there's really been another player who frustrated me so much while I was rooting for him to be better because I thought he was a decent guy.

Joe Kelly's quintessential trait (for me) can be summed up in one word... frustration. That and he had to be watched like a hawk. He could "loose it" as fast as any pitcher I can remember.

LOLL, Jon Heyman is getting a lot of flack for this tweet:
Jon Heyman @jonheyman One thing that struck me about #TheLastDance. Michael Jordan and Derek Jeter are the same person: The burning desire to win, the confidence in competition, the street smarts, smile and sense of humor. 1 difference: Jeter never would let camera follow him a day, much less a year.

So they aren’t the same person. Shocking Jon. Comparing people is an annoying thing people seem to always want to do.

Damn that guy got it done. I have not seen his dating life list, but I would assume it has been immaculately curated to project a public image, and is in no way a reflection of any real human feeling or depth of romantic commitment, as the man is, at his core, fundamentally hollow.
