Yeah, Timelord cannot switch to anyone that takes him outside the paint. Dude's atrocious out there. Considering his movement skills and length, he should be plus in space. But his awareness is way below NBA levels.

He needs to stay healthy a full season. Let’s hope so. Although it’s hard to believe that more playing time is going to teach young Robert to close out on Serge Ibaka. Especially when Stevens is already yelling at him to do so.

Are you thinking his lower number means worst? Offensive rating, higher the better, defensive lower the better. It's point allowed per 100 possessions and points scored per 100. He's #1 on the team regular season in defensive rating, #1 in defensive box score. In the post season he was #2 to only Tatum in defensive rating and I think #4 in defensive box score with Tatum, Wanamaker and Grant Williams. I'm not counting your boy Falls 30 minutes, yet if you wanted to technically he'd be number one in the regular season. Now part of that is Stevens picking the right spots to play him and limited minutes. Yet his overall D is already good when you look at the net ratings. Yeah he makes mistakes, yet he also does a bunch of good things. One the bigger ones is block shots, which does wonders for a D. We literally got to see that in the playoffs. His elite rebounding takes away extra possessions that was a big problem with Theis. www.basketball-reference.com/teams/BOS/2020.htmlThese are the stats the NBA announcers use. They repeatedly brought up how Theis was #2 in defensive win shares during the playoffs to only Gobert. If you look at ESPN real plus minus he's positive on D, when a bunch of Celtics aren't. Those stats you are using show Kanter and Grant Williams better than Theis. They show Edwards, Waters, and Langford as better than Smart, along with most of the team. Literally they have Edwards as our best defender that played any real minutes. I think that tells us all we need to know that there's something fishy with those stats. So should we trade Smart because we have a defensive monster in Edwards ready to take over?

I would really appreciate if people would stop mocking Precious Achiuwa to the Celtics. Why? If you feel Okongwu is the perfect fit, why don't you like Precious? They are two very similar players and Precious already shows a little shooting.

Although it’s hard to believe that more playing time is going to teach young Robert to close out on Serge Ibaka. Especially when Stevens is already yelling at him to do so. For his entire career before the NBA he was taught to defend the rim. Stop the easy baskets. So more playing time will certainly help. Yet let's not act like Theis didn't also leave Ibaka open, it had to be by design. Take away the paint and force them to beat us with the three ball. Ibaka got open looks all series and it wasn't just Robert Williams defending him.

No, I don’t think he’s the perfect fit, but based on the rumors he makes sense to me from what Danny may be thinking. If they trade up, I hope it’s because they really like another player better. I’m not a big fan of drafting bigs early. You sold me on Oturu later - I’ll hope for him at 26. If they draft a big at 14 I hope it’s Smith so i can at least dream on the guy being able to shoot from deep.

I don’t see defensive rating on that link. Under per 100 possessions all the way on the right side is the offensive and defensive ratings per 100 possessions for each player. Under advanced stats you'll defensive box score plus minus, which is used to calculate win shares.

If your not an Anthony or Maxey person, there are still a bunch more options. I'd take Nesmith, Terry, Bane before Smith if you wanted shooting. Lot's of bigs that can shoot later in the draft Oturu, Woodard, Tillie, I think Zeke will become a good shooter.

I haven't mocked Prince because I don't see the need, yet he's rather similar to Okongwa. Both score because they can dribble and create because they are both elite athletes. Prince looks like the better dribbler, he has slightly more length and does have a below average three point shot. Prince could be a defensive monster that could guard basically everyone but PGs. He's just kinda raw and old for a freshman. Yet if he's a high character guy, that works hard and wants to get better he could be the next Bam type guy. He certainly fits Danny's drafting style. I see more risk than other players, like he could bust, yet he's also an elite athlete with very good length. I wouldn't overlook him, I think he's in play if Danny wants a big that's an athletic monster and can do things Robert Williams can't like Bam does.

You like them taking three wings to a roster that already has a ton?
If the board plays out that way I rush my card with Maxey on it.

To be fair it’s 2 wings right now as Bolmaro is being drafted to be stashed, likely for a couple years. Also, Bolmaro is more a combo guard than a win who could develop into a bigger PG. Also, versatile wings are arguably the most important position on the court these days and it’s looking more and more likely that Hayward is not long for Boston. Is this my ideal draft? No, but I like Green a lot so if he fell like this, I’d have a hard time saying to pass on him just because they took Bey or Maxey earlier. In fact, I’d be pretty upset that they passed on him at 30.

Saw something talking about Desmond Bane maybe getting interest in the lottery.
Not sure of the credibility of THAT but it would certainly fit my Cs trade up and take someone NOBODY thinks they need to trade up for.

I’d take that draft from the Celtics tho. If you switched out Bey for Maxey I would freaking love that draft for Boston. I actually like Green more than I like Bey. I have a huge fear that the Celtics come out of this draft with only role players and no potential stars. Barring any unforeseen trades, this is going to be the highest they draft in a while.

No, but I like Green a lot so if he fell like this, I’d have a hard time saying to pass on him just because they took Bey or Maxey earlier. In fact, I’d be pretty upset that they passed on him at 30. To make one thing clear, one of the reasons I love Maxey is because I think he can be a PG on the Celtics. So he's not a wing in my book. Wings are important, yet you have two of the best young wings in the game. Then you have Langford, who Danny loves. Nevermind Haywards still here as of now. We have seen how it's hard to play three wings together in the playoffs. Out of those Picks, Green at 30 is a case of best player available. I can fully understand taking him no matter what happens. Heck I think I like Green more than Bey. Bey scares me to death, he's a guy I might take at 26, not 14. Bolmaro- isn't a combo guard in my book, not with he struggles to drive against smaller players. He's like a big shooting guard, who is so-so dribbling, not a good shooter and is a creative passer. The one thing a Celtics PG has to do is be able to drive, get the D to react and pass. That's the thing with him, if he doesn't develop a shot, he's not going to be that good. If you believe that the shot will come, he's a good stash guy, if not stay far away. So he carries a lot of risk. I'd point out Danny has talked about drafting for need and he's never done that before. It makes sense, this draft is crazy close talent wise and it's strong in areas we have needs. Like PGs, Bigs and shooting. That mock has us taking guys that would have a crazy hard time getting minutes and Bey might be the most overrated shooter in the draft. I rank so many guys above him, heck I think Maxey will be a better overall shooter than Bey.
