Jared Weis (the Athletic) expressed my thoughts well. A trade for Holiday will likely require something drastic. Just don't think Boston needs to be in that mode.

I don’t know why you need to add anything to Hayward to get Holiday. But if you did, it’d be one of the late firsts and that’s it.

I feel like it's one of those cases where I THINK I know why you NEED to just don't know why you'd want to.

I'm guessing, in this fantasy world, it would be completed after the draft.

Yeah standard practice that draft day trades are agreed too, yet can't be completed till the year starts. This year it's two days.

For UMass, Evan Massey (looks like an Indy contributor to ESPN, Yahoo, SI, etc) says Boston and the Pacers HAVE discussed a Turner/Hayward deal. Other pieces would be included per Massey (but he doesn't indicate in what direction).
EDIT - Massey follows up saying it's Hayward and 14 for Turner and that both teams seam intrigued by the idea.
EDIT 2 - Which would fail the Cap Rules which means Hayward would have to be Extend and Trade. In a normal offseason, he could opt out and sign a new deal. Then they could wait the requisite days to finalize the deal. Too short a window this offseason.

One idea I saw was Kemba and Picks to NOLA for Holiday and Hayward to Indy for Turner... UMASS would be in heaven

We're not trading Kemba. Been a fan of Jrue since he was a 6ers player though.

The Pelicans own pick 39 and 42. If any of these rumors are true, that could be big.

Kira Lewis: theathletic.com/2195658/2020/11/13/kira-lewis-alabama-nba-draft/I love and hate these fluff pieces on players. Most are interesting but not really worthwhile. This one however, is a bit different. This tells a lot about the kids drive and desire. Graduated HS in 3 years, went to the gym before school to shoot 1,000 shots. Intelligent - hard working - desire to be better always. This is the player I want. Be it Kira Lewis or someone else.

I’m expecting a major shakeup this offseason. Getting under the luxury tax (important when you don’t have a championship team) while getting young talent that match the Jays timeline makes sense. I wouldn’t be shocked to see any of Walker, Theis, Hayward, or Smart gone in the next three weeks.

Maybe but Marcus Smart is only 26 years old... he’s part of the Jay’s timeline age wise... you don’t want to get guys younger than them, that defeats the purpose. And I only mention Marcus Smarts age because it feels like he’s been around forever, but he’s still just reaching prime years.

I think it's an important point. I don't mind trading a late first for an older veteran. Yet if you're trading 14, the player coming back better be young. The core of this team is young. Once again in the playoffs it was Tatum and Brown, those are the guys that will win you a Championship. It's not Kemba and Hayward, so no reason to make crazy all in now type moves for older players.

Very unlikely but I’d be over the moon if that’s how things went... ha I’m resigned right the fact that we spent so much time on these draft picks and we might not end up with more than 1 pick in the first round - possibly none. I’d be so bummed if that happened.

hardwoodhoudini.com/2020/11/14/boston-celtics-trade-jrue-holiday/I just don't get a bunch of these ideas. In what world is Holiday worth three first round picks more than Hayward or Walker? It's like they are acting like Holiday is this great asset and Hayward/Walker are these crazy negative ones. I don't want to trade 14, yet if you do it better be for a young guy on a good contract like Turner. Yet even then you'd need more. This crap is like the Chris Sale trade ideas, where people had these massive packages and the actual trade was like half that.
