So if I understand this correctly, if Gordon signs with Atlanta on a S&T, Boston will get a significant trade exception (not sure exactly how big but maybe big enough for Wood??). Then we can do a Sign-and-Trade for Wood where we take him into that exception. Why these other moves are critical for that is because if Boston RECEIVES a player via S&T, they become hard capped at 139M. These other moves give Boston a little more wiggle room to do something like this AND use an exception without being right up against the hard cap. Also, been wondering why Atlanta would do something like this when they have room to just sign him outright. Where a S&T helps is that Boston can give him larger raises (might be like 8% vs another team only 5%? - but others might have the specifics). So some of it DOES make some sense. Whether it will happen or whether BRobb and others are wrong (and other writers are correct) and Boston WOULD be interested in Turner remains to be seen. Wonder how much of this is already in motion and ready to just go at 6pm. It’s all in motion already and yes UMass it’s going to be crazy fast for 2 reasons. Camp starts so quickly ANd there are way more free agents than there is money so they don’t want to get caught without a good deal. |

It looks like I was wrong because I figured Indy most definitely is offering Turner (which seems right) and that Danny would jump at that if he likes the player... now it seems like he’s just trying to rape Indy or force Hayward to return on a better deal in Boston |

Yet it doesn't even make sense trade wise. Are they paying Hayward max money? Unless Danny is trying to include other players. I'd try to maybe gain a pick, yet I'd be careful. |
